  Computer Selling Tips
You can find several details about your computer by right-clicking on the "My Computer" icon on your desktop and selecting "Properties."

On the general tab, you will find information about your Operating System (Microsoft Windows XP Professional in the example above).

In addition, your computer's Chip Type should be on the first line of text under "Computer". For example, if you see Intel¨Pentium¨4 CPU 2.00GHz", your Chip Type is Intel Pentium 4.

The "CPU Speed" is indicated following "CPU." In the example shown above, the CPU Speed is 2.00 GHz.

Note: If you have an AthlonXP processor from AMD, please also provide the model number. Model numbers range from 1500+ to 3200+. For example, if you see AMD(R) AthlonXP¨1600+ CPU 1.40GHz, your Chip Type is AMD AthlonXP and your Model Number is 1600+.

The next piece of information displayed is your system's memory (also known as "RAM"). In the example shown above, there is 1 GB of RAM.

An additional piece of information that is very important to a successful PC listing is the size of your hard drive and a description of any other drives you may have (such as a CD or DVD drive). Close the "System Properties" window and this time double-click on the "My Computer" icon.

You will see something similar to this:

This tells you that you have 2 drives on this computer. The first is a Hard Drive and the second is a CD Drive. Remember that you have a CD Drive and include this fact in your listing.

Next, to determine the hard drive size, right-click on this icon and select "Properties."

Look for information on the "capacity":

In the example shown, this computer has a 37.2 GB hard drive.

This information provides the essential facts about your system and you should include all the details as discussed above in your eBay listing to increase your chances of achieving the best possible price for your computer.
