Purchasing a Service Plan provides you with peace of mind and protection for your eBay purchase. With Service Plan coverage, if your product breaks, N.E.W. will repair it. Service Plan benefits include:
What products are eligible for coverage? Most electronics in the eBay Computers, Consumer Electronics, Photo, and Musical Instruments categories are eligible for coverage provided the product is purchased for personal and not commercial use and is in full working order at the time of sale. New, used, and refurbished products are all eligible for coverage. If the product is used or refurbished, it must be less than 5 years old. What Service Plans are available? You can currently purchase one-year Service Plans. You can purchase either a one-year "Standard Service Plan" to cover eligible product with no existing Service Plan or an "Extended Service Plan" that extends a manufacturer or seller's 90-day, 6-month, or 1-year Service Plan by another year. You select the appropriate plan option during the Service Plan purchase process.
How do I purchase a Service Plan? Follow these three simple steps to purchase a Service Plan:
Before you purchase a Service Plan, you'll want to make sure that you've first won and purchased the product that you're interested in getting a Service Plan for and that the product is eligible for coverage. Note that you have 30 days from time your item transaction closed on eBay to purchase an accompanying Service Plan. Also, due to state regulations, Service Plans are not available for sale or purchase in Maine, Alaska, Guam, and Puerto Rico. How much does a Service Plan cost? The cost of a Service Plan is determined by the final eBay purchase price of your product. Special introductory pricing is currently being offered - please consult the chart below to determine the cost of a Service Plan for your product. If you are purchasing a fixed-price item on eBay, you can determine the Service Plan cost now. If you are bidding on an item, you can estimate the cost of your Service Plan depending on how much you think the item will close at. Please note that in certain states sales tax is also charged on the sale of a Service Plan. During the Service Plan checkout process, the Service Plan cost and any applicable sales tax will be calculated and presented to you.
Is there sales tax charged on a Service Plan? Tax is charged on the sale of Service Plans in certain states including the following: Connecticut, District of Columbia, Florida, Iowa, Kansas, Louisiana, Nebraska, New Jersey, New York, Ohio, Pennsylvania, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, and Wisconsin Any applicable sales tax will be calculated at the time of checkout and presented to you.
When does the Service Plan coverage take effect and how long does it last? Your N.E.W. Service Plan provides one year of Service coverage. The N.E.W. Service Plan coverage start date depends on the Service Plan you select:
Can I purchase a Service Plan even if the seller of my item doesn't offer a Service Plan option? Yes, you can purchase a Service Plan for your item even if the seller of your item doesn't directly offer the Service Plan option provided:
How do I make a claim on my Service Plan product? To file a claim and request service for a broken product under a Service Plan, simply call N.E.W. at the toll-free number 866-212-1967, and a customer service representative will assist you. Customer service representatives are available 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.
What options do I have for servicing my product? Once you file a claim, your customer service representative will determine how best to service your product. (To file a claim, simply call N.E.W. at the toll-free number 866-212-1967.) In some instances, N.E.W. will reimburse you for the full purchase amount that you paid for the product. In other instances, N.E.W. will service and repair your product. Service options available include mail-in, carry-in, and onsite repair.
In what geographical regions are Service Plans available? Currently, the Service Plan program is available to buyers in the United States with the exception of the following states and jurisdictions where state regulations prevent sellers and buyers from selling and buying Service Plans:

My product also comes with a manufacturer's Service Plan. Why should I also purchase an N.E.W. Service Plan? Service Plan Extend the manufacturer's Service Plan and get additional peace of mind with an N.E.W. Extended Service Plan. If your manufacturer's Service Plan is for 90 days, 6 months, or 1 year, you can extend that Service Plan for another year with an N.E.W. Service Plan. Select the appropriate Extended Service Plan option during the N.E.W. Service Plan purchase process.
Is my Service Plan transferable or renewable? Yes, your Service Plan is fully transferable. Should you ever want to re-sell your product, having a Service Plan will also increase its resale value since the Service Plan is transferable. In most cases, the Service Plan is also renewable when it expires. To find out if your Service Plan is renewable and/or to renew it, call N.E.W. at the toll-free number 866-212-1967.
Can I cancel my Service Plan? Yes, you can cancel your Service Plan at anytime for any reason. Depending on when you cancel the Service Plan, you will be reimbursed accordingly at a pro-rated amount. What happens if I purchase a Service Plan for an item that the seller never ships to me? If your seller doesn't ship the item to you, call N.E.W. at the toll-free number 866-212-1967 within 90 days after your item transaction closed on eBay and N.E.W. will refund to you the entire Service Plan purchase price.
