In cooperation with rights owners, eBay works to develop and enforce policies and procedures for protecting intellectual property.
eBay was one of the first companies to adopt an online process enabling rights owners to report infringements. This program, called the Verified Rights Owner (VeRO) Program, now counts among its participants over 28,000 companies and individuals representing every type of intellectual property - from major software companies to video game developers to rock bands to luxury good manufacturers. Benefits Participation in the VeRO Program entitles rights owners to the following benefits:
How can I participate? It is fast and simple to participate in the VeRO Program. If you have a good faith belief that a listing on eBay infringes your copyright, trademark, or other intellectual property rights, all you need to do is download our Notice of Claimed Infringement (NOCI) form, fill it out, and fax it to eBay. After we process your first NOCI, eBay will send you an electronic version of our NOCI form as well as instructions on how to submit future reports electronically. Create your own About Me page As a rights owner, you can also create your own, free About Me page on eBay to communicate directly with eBay users about your company, your products and the intellectual property rights you own. Once you have posted your About Me page, send us an email and we will include it in our list of VeRO Participant About Me pages. |
