  • Deleting the Facebook Page, you used to link your Facebook account to eBay
  • Changing your Instagram account from a business account to a private or personal account

How to set up Auto-posting

Setting up Auto-posting allows you to have your new items automatically posted to your linked social accounts after you list them on eBay, saving you time, getting your listings noticed on social by more buyers, and selling faster!

To get started:

  1. Go to the Social page in Seller Hub https://www.ebay.com/sh/social
  2. Make sure you’ve linked to at least one social account: How to link an account
  3. Scroll down to the Auto-posting section of the home page, and click the Set up now or Edit Preferences button to take you to the Preferences page
  4. Choose at least one social platform and one category you’d like to have auto-posting applied to. But you can choose as many as you’d like!
    1. Auto-posting is currently available for Facebook, Instagram and Pinterest
  5. Click Save when you’re ready, and your preferences will be saved.
  6. You can go back to edit or pause your Auto-post preferences any time by visiting the Preferences page https://www.ebay.com/sh/social/auto-post

Note: After you list a new item on eBay, your Auto-post to social could take several minutes while eBay processes all posts. Each social channel has quota limits for posts per day that apply. You can check the status of your posts to social any time on the Status page https://www.ebay.com/sh/social/post/history.

Troubleshoot: I’ve lost connection to my linked account

There are different reasons your eBay account and social accounts may lose connection, and require you to re-link your account, such as:

  • A long period of time has expired since your account was linked and you need to re-link
  • You’ve updated your social accounts to no longer be public or business accounts

If you visit the Social page and you no longer are linked to your Facebook or Instagram account, follow these steps:

  1. Make sure your Facebook Page is still active and connected to your Facebook account (this is required to link your Facebook and eBay accounts)
  2. Make sure your Instagram account is still set to a business account
  3. Go to the eBay Social home page
  4. Click on the Facebook or Instagram button you want to re-link to
  5. Re-enter or confirm your social account information in the popup
  6. Choose an active Facebook Page and re-grant permissions to eBay to post
  7. Once you’ve finished the linking flow, refresh the Social page to confirm you’ve re-linked to your Facebook or Instagram account

Troubleshoot: My Auto-posting isn’t working

If your Auto-posts to Social are not working, you can check these details:

  1. If a post failed, check the status of your auto-posts to social any time on the Status page and filtering to view Auto-posts: https://www.ebay.com/sh/social/post/history
  2. Check the Social home page and confirm your social media accounts are still linked to your eBay account. If you lost connection to your social accounts, Auto-posting will not be able to resume until you’ve reconnected your social account(s).
    1. Follow the steps for Troubleshoot: I’ve lost connection to my linked account
  3. If your Auto-posts aren’t showing up in social right away, keep in mind: After you list a new item on eBay, your Auto-post to social could take several minutes while eBay processes all posts.
    1. You can check the status of your posts to social any time on the Status page https://www.ebay.com/sh/social/post/history
