1) What is the Fixed Price format? How does it work?
The Fixed Price format allows you to sell your items instantly at a set price. Buyers can purchase your items immediately - no bidding or waiting. You can sell items at a set price, without waiting for a listing to end. Also, you can list multiple quantities of the same item

2) Why is eBay introducing the new Fixed Price format?
Since we introduced Buy It Now for auction-style items, our community indicated a strong desire to buy and sell some items instantly at a set price. Although auction-style listings will still be an important part of buying and selling on eBay, the Fixed Price format will:
  • Give sellers the ability to sell at a set price throughout the duration of the listing
  • Provide an quick and easy way for buyers to locate and purchase items instantly
  • Give sellers an alternative to sell items in quantity at a set price
  • Attract new buyers who want to purchase items instantly at a set price

3) What are the differences between auctions with a Buy It Now price, the Fixed Price format, and the Store Item format?
The three formats are described below:
  1. Auctions with a Buy It Now price
When you add a Buy It Now price to your auction-style listing:
    • Buyers will have the option to buy your item instantly or place a bid on your item.
    • The Buy It Now feature will only be available when there are no bids on the item or until the reserve price is met.
    • You can only sell one item per listing.
    • The item will appear in regular eBay browsing and search results.
    • The Buy It Now fee for auction-style listings is US$0.05 in addition to all standard listing fees and final value fees.

  2. Fixed Price format
When you list an item with the new Fixed Price format:
    • Buyers can purchase your item immediately at the price you set, but they cannot bid on your item.
    • The Buy It Now price is always available; it will not disappear.
    • You can sell quantities of one item or more per listing.
    • The item will appear in regular eBay browsing and search results.
    • There is no additional charge per item. However, the same listing fees and final value fees will apply as for an auction-style format item.

  3. Store Item format
When you list an item as a Store Item:
    • You must have an eBay Store to list eBay Store items.
    • Buyers can purchase your item immediately at the price you set, but they cannot bid on your item.
    • The Buy It Now price is always available; it will not disappear.
    • You can sell quantities of one item or more per listing.
    • The item will appear only in your eBay Store.
    • There is a lower insertion fee of US$0.05 per 30 days, up to 120 days.

4) How can I choose to list a Fixed Price item?
The first page of the Sell Your Item form will ask you to choose a format for your item. If you would like to list the item in the new Fixed Price format, just select the "Sell at a Fixed Price" option. You'll specify the Buy It Now price for your item later in the process.

5) How will people find my Fixed Price listing? Do Fixed Price items appear in search results? Is there any increased visibility of these items?
All Fixed Price items will appear in eBay's normal browse and search results pages. The Buy It Now icon will appear beside the item title of Fixed Price listings to indicate to buyers that they can purchase the item immediately.

All Buy It Now items, including auctions with a Buy It Now price and Fixed Price items, will appear in the new All Items tab and the Buy It Now tab of search results. Auctions with a Buy It Now price will also appear in the Auctions tab.

6) Is there any additional fee for Fixed Price items?
No. Listing an item with the new Fixed Price format will have the same insertion and final value fees as if the item were listed as a regular auction item.

7) Why is there an additional fee for auctions with a Buy It Now price? Why doesn't the additional fee apply to Fixed Price listings?
A feature fee of US$0.05 applies for all auction-style listings that include a Buy It Now price. Like other optional features for which we charge, Buy It Now provides added promotion with the addition of the Buy It Now icon. Also, new changes to the browse and search results pages will provide added visibility to auction-style listings that include the Buy It Now feature. These items will appear with both the bid price and the Buy It Now price on the -All Items- display, and will appear within all the browse and search Results views: All Items, Auctions, and Buy It Now.

In contrast, Fixed Price listings will appear with a Buy It Now price on the Browse and Search results pages, but without a bid price since there is no bidding on these types of items. Fixed Price listings will only be displayed within the "All Items" and "Buy It Now" views, but not in the "Auctions" view since there is no bidding on these types of items.

Therefore, an additional feature fee only applies to Auction listings with a Buy It Now price because these items have slightly increased visibility over the new Fixed Price format on our Browse & Search results pages.

8) How do I qualify to use the Fixed Price format?
There are minimum requirements to list a Fixed Price item. You are automatically qualified if you have a minimum feedback rating of 10 or are ID Verified. You must have a feedback rating of 30 or more and be a registered user for at least 14 days to list multiple quantity Fixed Price items (or be ID Verified).

9) Can I use the Fixed Price format to sell items in my eBay Store?
Yes. All your listings on eBay, including all your Fixed Price listings, will appear in your store. Learn more.

10) Can I list a Fixed Price item even if I don't have an eBay Store?
Yes, the new Fixed Price format is available to all eBay sellers, regardless of whether you have opened an eBay Store.

However, remember that minimum seller requirements apply to list Fixed Price items. You must have a minimum feedback of 10 or be ID Verified for single quantity listings.

11) Is the Fixed Price format available for all of eBay's sites?
Yes. The Fixed Price format is available on all eBay sites (eBay Germany, eBay UK, etc).

12) Will I be able to list Fixed Price items using Mister Lister or Seller's Assistant? What about other selling tools?
Yes. Mister Lister, Seller's Assistant Basic, and Seller's Assistant Pro will support the new Fixed Price (no bidding) format soon after the format's introduction on our site.

We will inform developers of third party selling tools about the new Fixed Price format in advance of the launch. We expect that these third parties will incorporate the new listing format into their existing applications.

13) Can I relist Fixed Price listings if I did not sell all my items?
Yes. If you still have any quantity of items remaining when your listing ends, you can easily relist your unsold items. Simply click the "relist" link on the View Item page. You may also revise the quantity of items you would like to sell during relisting.
