Create a Shipping Label on PayPal

You can create shipping labels and packing slips on PayPal when you ship by U.S. Postal Service (USPS) service and print one label at a time. You don't need a special label printer-just print the label on a normal sheet of paper and tape it to your package.

Primary label printing functionalities are explained below. If you are looking to find answers for specific issues, please check Frequently Asked Questions page.

New PayPal shipping label tool
The new PayPal shipping label tool supports label printing for eBay transactions. Users can continue to print their labels on the old flow for UPS shipments and off-eBay transactions. PayPal Multi Order Shipping (MOS) application is also available for the bulk label printing.

Benefits of creating shipping labels using new PayPal flow
Here's how printing labels and packing slips on PayPal can save you time, effort, and money:
  • There are no fees from eBay or PayPal to print labels online. You only pay the cost of the postage plus any other services you pick, like insurance or tracking.
  • Services like Tracking and Signature Confirmation are cheaper if you print labels online than purchasing them at the post office.
  • Printing your shipping labels on PayPal helps you provide proof of shipment if you need PayPal Seller Protection.
  • You can insure the package using ShipCover (for eBay orders) or USPS.
  • Tracking information is automatically uploaded to PayPal (and eBay for eBay orders). You can check the shipping status of your shipped items in the Manage Your Shipping section on PayPal platform. With your tracking information, buyers can also check the shipping status of packages, so you'll receive fewer emails from buyers.
  • When you print a label for an eBay order, eBay will send an order update email with tracking details to your buyer. You can include an additional message to your buyer.
  • If you use free carrier pickup (for Priority Mail or Express Mail), you can save a trip to the post office—otherwise, you can just drop off your package at the post office counter instead of standing in line.

Creating a shipping label
To create and print shipping labels using PayPal:
  1. Sign in to PayPal, once you land on your default Account Overview page, find the item you want to ship and click the Print shipping label button.
  2. Fill out the information on the shipping label. Item and other information may be prefilled for you based on your order.
You can insure the items you're shipping.
You can request Delivery Confirmation (free with Priority Mail and discounted with some other services).
You can show the cost of shipping on the label or keep that cost hidden.
If you're shipping internationally, you can print customs forms.
  3. Review your payment information. If it's correct, click the Continue button.
  4. On the Finish printing your label page, click the Print label button.

Print multiple labels for the same order
If you're shipping an order in multiple packages (for example, a lamp base in one box and the lampshade in another), you can create and print more than one label for the same order. You'll be able to change the shipping service, and your PayPal account will be billed again for the cost of the additional label.

Steps to print another label for an existing order on PayPal system:
  1. On an account overview page, identify the item for which you want to print another label.
  2. Click on 'Details' link and you'll see the Transaction Details page.
  3. At the bottom of the Transaction Details page, under section 'Shipments' click on the link 'Manage your shipments'

International shipping forms
When you create and print a shipping label for an international shipment, you'll need to fill out the customs form before you pay for and print the label. Some information on the customs form, such as address, is already filled out for you.

Managing your Shipments
The Manage Your Shipments page is a central place where you can manage and perform additional tasks such as search, reprint or void a label etc. on existing order(s) that you've already printed.

Manage Your Shipments page can be accessed either from Transaction Details page or transaction's success page.

To access the Manage Your Shipments page using Transaction Details page:
  1. On an account overview page, identify the item for which you want to change an option.
  2. Click on 'Details' link and you'll see the Transaction Details page.
  3. At the bottom of the Transaction Details page, under section 'Shipments' click on the link 'Manage your shipments'
  4. You'll see 'Manage you shipments' page' with pre-searched label transaction.
  5. Choose the option that you intend to perform from the drop down box and click on it to execute the action.

Getting the package to the post office
Once you've printed your shipping label and prepared your package, you can contact USPS and request that they pick up your Priority Mail or Express Mail package and any other packages for free with your regular mail service. You can also request package pick-up on demand for a fee. The USPS will also pick up First-Class Mail, Media Mail, and international mail.

If you choose to take the package to the post office, just print your shipping label and package your item in advance. You can leave the package on the post office counter instead of standing in line.
