Coded coupons are available to eBay Store subscribers and enable you to offer buyers a discount through a coupon code.

When you share a coded coupon on eBay, your terms (max discount, minimum purchase amount, expiration date, and more) will be displayed to buyers. If you share a coded coupon off eBay, make sure your terms are clearly visible and provide a link to Buyer Terms and Conditions.

Coded coupons may not be combined with other promotions such as Order Discount and Volume Pricing. If several promotions run concurrently on an item, buyers get the best discount. Coupons may be combined with markdowns, but cannot be applied to listings with Best Offer or Offer to buyers.

What is the Promotion?

Invited sellers (“Sellers”) who sell one or more items through a coded coupon during the Promotion Period, pursuant to the terms and conditions set forth herein, will receive a 30% final value fee credit on up to 500 qualifying transactions (the “Promotion”).

For a transaction to qualify for the Promotion, Sellers must complete a sale with a coded coupon during the Promotion Period* by (i) creating a custom discount code using the coded coupon feature in the Seller Hub Marketing tab and (ii) completing the sale based on that coupon to the buyer. (“Qualifying Transactions”).

The final value fee credit will equal 30% of the final value fees charged on the sale of Qualifying Transactions. The promotion is valid on up to 500 Qualifying Transactions per seller.

An item is considered listed when it is posted for sale on eBay.com and remains active until (i) the item sells or (ii) the end of the listing period is reached. An item is considered sold when it is paid for in full by a buyer.

Discounted final value fees will be applied to the total amount of the sale including the cost of the item and shipping, sales tax, and other applicable fees. The discount does not apply to any per order fee charged. All existing selling limits on your account (as well as category and item limits) still apply, and may prevent you from creating the maximum number of listings in this Final Value Fee Promotion. Who’s eligible?

The Promotion is available to Sellers who: (i) received an email and/or message in My eBay, (ii) create a coupon code in the seller hub marketing tab*, (ii) have payments managed by eBay and (iii) meet eBay’s minimum seller performance standards. Please sign in to My eBay and view your Seller Dashboard to verify whether your account is currently meeting the standard.

How to create a coded coupon*

  1. To create a coupon code, go to “Promotions” in your Seller Hub Marketing tab, and select “Coupon” in the “Create a promotion” menu
  2. Generate your desired code
  3. Set requirements e.g. type of discount and max budget
  4. Pick inventory and launch

When will the Promotion start?

This Promotion will begin on Thursday, November 18, 2021 at 00:00:01 PT (12:00 a.m. plus one second), and will end on Thursday, December 9, 2021 at 23:59:59 PT (11:59 p.m. plus 59 seconds), for listings on www.ebay.com (the "Promotion Period").

How do I get the Promotion?

Sellers that have been invited to participate will receive the Promotion on listings created on the US site at www.ebay.com through the Sell Your Item form, eBay Seller Tools, eBay Mobile applications, and most third-party tools.

Please note that the promotional credit will not be shown during the listing process, but will be processed and reflected in the Payments tab in Seller Hub or Payments in My eBay within 60 days of the completion of the Qualifying Transaction.

Summary of Restrictions & Exclusions.

  • The following categories are excluded from the Promotion: Cars & Trucks; Motorcycles; Boats; Powersports; Other Vehicles & Trailers; Real Estate; Classified Ad Listings; Heavy Equipment; Food Trucks, Trailers & Carts; Commercial Printing Presses; Coins & Paper Money; and Gift Cards & Coupons.
  • All listings must comply with all applicable eBay policies, including eBay’s Duplicate Listing policy that allows for the removal of duplicate fixed price listings.
  • The Promotion excludes sales resulting from coded coupons created outside of the Promotion Period.
  • This Promotion is only valid for listings on the US site at www.ebay.com.
  • Fees for optional features (such as reserve price, subtitle, Gallery Plus, listing in 2 categories, etc.) will still apply. Please note: Not all features are available in all listing flows.

The Promotion is subject to U.S laws, void where prohibited, not redeemable for cash, has no face value, and cannot be combined with any other final value fee offer. eBay may cancel, amend, or revoke the Promotion at any time, including in response to fraudulent activity.
