Your used items can help others

There are a number of nonprofit organizations that can make good use of your used computers and consumer electronics by passing them along to people or groups in need.

The Collective Good

The Collective Good The Collective Good Foundation helps in fundraising and public awareness targeting reductions in hazardous wastes, protection of groundwater, cures and treatments for degenerative diseases, and better education on the relationships between human health, education, and environmental quality.

Goodwill

Goodwill Goodwill Industries agencies refurbish, recycle or resell computer donations to earn money for job training and career programs that benefit over 600,000 people each year.

March of Dimes March of Dimes The March of Dimes is committed to improving the health of babies by preventing birth defects, premature birth and other threats to infant health.
The National Cristina Foundation directs donations of used computer equipment to organizations throughout the U.S. These groups train people with disabilities, students at risk and economically disadvantaged persons to lead more independent and productive lives.
StRUT

StRUT The Students Recycling Used Technology (StRUT) program gives schools reusable equipment that students must evaluate, sort, repair and refurbish so it can be distributed to and used by schools in need. With this holistic approach, StRUT provides valuable business and technical skills to thousands of students each year. Learn more about StRUT and how to donate reusable systems.

The Wireless Foundation The Wireless Foundation initiates and oversees philanthropic programs that utilize wireless technology to help American communities. The Wireless Foundation’s CALL TO PROTECT® program collects used wireless phones to benefit victims of domestic violence. Donated phones are refurbished and sold to raise funds for the purchase of new, reliable phones and airtime to be distributed to domestic violence shelters nationwide. CALL TO PROTECT proceeds have also helped anti-domestic violence agencies expand national prevention and awareness programs.

eBay Giving Works offers another way to make a charitable contribution by selling your used computers, cell phones and consumer electronics. Through eBay Giving Works, when you list an item on eBay, you can donate part or all of the final sale price to the nonprofit of your choice. Your listing will be marked with special features and information about your donation commitment, giving buyers additional confidence and incentive to purchase.

Donating through eBay Giving Works involves selling on eBay, so you may want to take advantage of some of the selling tools on eBay’s Selling Zones.
