What is the eBay Payment Sweepstakes?
This sweepstakes is sponsored by eBay in order to promote the ease and convenience of using PayPal one-time payments to pay your eBay bills. If you make a one-time PayPal payment toward your eBay seller fees during the month of June, you will automatically be entered for a chance to win one of the following three (3) prizes:
  • Grand Prize: up to $25,000 in FREE eBay listings
  • First Prize: up to $10,000 in FREE eBay listings
  • Second Prize: up to $5,000 in FREE eBay listings

    Who may participate?
    This sweepstakes is open to all legal residents of the 50 United States and the District of Columbia and Canada, 18 years of age or older or the age of majority in their state or place of residence who are confirmed registered members of www.ebay.com or www.ebay.ca (the "eBay Site") with a valid eBay User ID as of June 1, 2004 and an account in good standing.

    What is the sweepstakes period?
    Eligible participants may enter for a chance to win in the month of June 2004. Winners will be announced on or around July 15, 2004. The prizes will be awarded from August 1, 2004 to July 15, 2005.

    If I win, how will I be notified?
    Potential winners will be notified by Marden-Kane, our third-party sweepstakes administrator, by email or regular and/or overnight mail and further instructions for claiming the prize will be included with that notification.

    What is PayPal?
    PayPal is a service that can be used to send and receive payments through the Internet. Once you sign up for PayPal, you can send money to anyone with an email address using money from your PayPal balance or another funding option of your choice, such as a credit card, debit card or your bank account.     Where can I go to make a one-time PayPal payment towards my seller fees?
    You have two places you can go
    1. Go to My eBay by clicking on the link found on the top of most eBay pages. Then click on the "My Account" page and you will see the PayPal payment box
    2. Go to the Make a One-Time Payment page by clicking on "Make payments toward my account" in the Seller Account section of the eBay site map

    Making a one-time payment with PayPal is a fast, easy, and secure way to pay your eBay seller fees. The process takes seconds online and you can take advantage of PayPal's security features for your payments. Plus, paying with PayPal is convenient because you'll be tracking your account activity in one place-PayPal.

    Can I pay my seller fees with PayPal automatically every month?
    You can pay your seller fees with PayPal every month by making a one-time payment on the eBay site as explained above. At this time, it is not possible to set up automatic monthly payments through your PayPal account. We are exploring adding this functionality sometime in the future.

    Yes, you will still need to maintain a payment method on file.

    How can I avoid a duplicate payment of my seller fees?
    You can make a PayPal payment at any time. Look in the PayPal payment box on the Accounts page-it's automatically filled with the amount of eBay fees you owe at any given time.

    However, if you want to pay off your exact amount of your monthly invoice and usually pay with credit card or Direct Pay, please look at the guidelines below to avoid a duplicate payment:
    Recurring Payment Method PayPal Payment Timing
    Credit card US and CA residents: Within 5 days of your invoice date
    Direct Pay CA residents: Within 5 days of your invoice date
    US residents:Within 10 days of your invoice date

    You can determine your invoice date by viewing your account status.

    What are the requirements for paying seller fees with PayPal?
    In order to pay seller fees with PayPal, you will need to meet the following requirements:
    • You must be a registered user of eBay.com, eBay.ca or eBay.co.uk.
    • You must be billed in U.S. Dollars, U.K. Pounds, Canadian Dollars, Euros, or Yen.
    • You must have a PayPal account.
