Shill bidding is when a seller – or someone associated with a seller – bids on that seller's own item. These bids artificially increase the price or desirability of the item, and damage buyers' faith in the integrity and fairness of the marketplace. Shill Bidding is not allowed on eBay.

Sally is selling her car on eBay. She's worried that her car might sell for less than the amount she hopes for. To make sure that no bidder can win her car for less than the price she has in mind, Sally uses another eBay account to place bids on her own car, raising the price to what she feels is fair.

Is Sally's bidding on her own car allowed on eBay?
