Selling Manager Pro users have an additional set of preferences in your Selling Manager Pro views in My eBay. These preferences are not a part of your eBay preferences. These Automation Preferences affect automated features (email, feedback, listing and relisting), multiple sites, and default description footers.
The Automation Preferences page has the following groupings of settings.
Automated Positive Feedback for Buyers - Set your automated feedback preferences
Automated Email for Buyers - Set your automated email preferences
Listings Automation Schedule - Suspend your items from automatic listing and relisting
Other Automation Preferences
Worldwide eBay sites - Select your selling sites
Default description footer - Create or modify a standard footer for an item description.
Changing your preferences
In the My eBay Views section, click the "Automation Preferences" link.
On the Selling Manager Pro Preference page, scroll down to the preference you want to change.
Modify the setting and click the Apply button.
Automated Positive Feedback for Buyers
You can reduce the time you spend leaving feedback by automatically sending positive feedback to your buyers.
Automatic feedback will only be left for sold listings that are not archived.
You can automatically send feedback to your buyers and have the option to select between two situations: When the buyer has paid for the item or the buyer has paid for the item and has left you positive feedback
If you buyer has paid for the item, this preference automatically leaves feedback comments when you mark your sold listings as Paid. The feedback generated will always be positive and will randomly use one of your saved comments.
If your buyer has paid for this item and left positive feedback, this preference will automatically leave feedback comments for your buyers when you mark your sold listings as Paid and the buyer has left you positive feedback. Again, the feedback generated will always be positive and will randomly use one of your saved comments.
Once your automated feedback is processed, the feedback status for that specific sold listing will be updated. If the feedback is not sent to the buyer because of a system failure or because the buyer was suspended, an alert will be generated on the Summary View.
Tip: Because automated emails are always positive, it is a good idea to review your stored comments to ensure they are positive before setting this preference.
Automated Email for Buyers
You can automatically send the following emails to your buyers during the sales process. You may select one or all of these automatic emails.
Winning Buyer Notification - sent after an item has sold
Payment Reminder - sent based upon how many days after listing closes that you want this email sent.
Payment Received Notification- sent when you change the status of your sold item to Paid.
Shipping Notification - sent when you change the status of your sold item to Shipped.
Feedback Reminder - sent based on how many days after shipping you want this email sent.
Automated emails are only sent for sold listings that are not archived.
Once your automated email is processed, the email log for that sold listing will be updated. If there is an error associated with an automated email, you will see an alert on your Summary view.
Note: An alert will only be generated when there is a technical problem that prevents an email from being sent. For example, an alert is not generated if your buyer does not receive an email that was sent because they failed to give you a valid email address.
Tip: Your automated emails use stored templates. Before setting this preference, review the wording of these email templates to make sure they are appropriate for your selling needs. You can edit an email template by clicking on the template's "Edit" link on the Manage Email Templates page.
Listings Automation Schedule
You can suspend the automatic listing and relisting of your items for a specific duration.
If you are going on vacation, or are temporarily out of stock for a certain product, you can use this setting to temporarily stop the automatic listing/relisting process without having to edit all your automated listing rules.
