Printing Shipping Labels and Packing Slips

Printing shipping labels

Reduce the amount of time you spend shipping your items by purchasing and printing US Postal Service and UPS shipping labels at home. Printing labels is free -- you pay only the cost of shipping.

You can print shipping labels either from My eBay or PayPal.

To print shipping labels from My eBay:

  1. Go to the Items I've Sold view of My eBay and select the check box next to each item you want to ship.

  2. Click on the Print Shipping Labels button.

  3. Log in to PayPal.

  4. Choose the carrier and service options you would like to use.

  5. Enter the package weight, verify that the "Ship from" and "Ship to" information is correct, and click the Print button.

To print shipping labels from PayPal:

  1. Go to the Account Overview page or Post-Sale Manager and click the Ship button for the item.

  2. Choose the carrier and service options you would like to use.

  3. Enter the package weight, verify that the "Ship from" and "Ship to" information is correct, and click the Print button.

Track your package

You can track your package from My eBay once it’s shipped:

  1. Go to the “Items I’ve Sold” view in My eBay and click the “View Shipment Status” link for that item.

  2. Click on the link under Shipping Status in the Shipments section.

International shipping

When you’re listing an item you can either include the automatically generated rates for USPS or UPS, or you can specify a flat cost for up to three shipping services.

Duties or tariffs are charged on certain items when they are shipped out of the United States . Attach the appropriate forms to the outside of the package so that customs officials can easily examine them. You can get the forms when printing labels through eBay or PayPal or through the USPS Web site.

Printing packing slips

You can create a packing slip for any item that you sold if your buyer pays for it through PayPal.

Note: Unlike shipping labels, you must wait until the item has been paid for before you can print your packing slip.

A packing slip is a printable shipping receipt for the purchase of physical goods. It contains a summary of the transaction details for the buyer and seller. The receipt lists the goods being shipped and any optional information you provide.

To print a packing slip:

  1. Log into PayPal

  2. Click the "My Account" tab

  3. Click the "History" link

  4. Locate the payment associated with the item for which you want to print the packing slip

  5. Click the "Details" link

  6. Click "Print a Packing Slip" under the "Shipping" section
