Changing Store inventory listings to other formats

Bringing more traffic to your Store

A great way to help buyers become aware of your eBay Store is to list some items in auction-style and fixed price formats. By using these formats you have the opportunity to direct buyers to your Store when your items show up in search results.

When you list in auction-style or fixed price format, make sure your item descriptions include links to pages in your Store such as your home page, Store categories, or your Store inventory items.

Use the listing header to incorporate your Store's visuals such as colors, logo, and theme.

Also consider cross-promoting your items.

About changing formats

You can change items in an existing single or multiple Store inventory listing to a new auction-style or fixed price listing.

  • By default, the new listing has the same information as the Store inventory listing. You can edit the listing, including title, description, starting price, duration, Buy It Now price, and enhancements like subtitle or Gallery picture.

  • If your Store inventory listing has multiple items, you can use the Quantity drop-down menu to specify how many items to send to the new auction-style or fixed price listing. The remaining items will stay in your Store inventory listing. If you send all items, the Store inventory listing will automatically end when the new listing begins.

Changing a single Store inventory listing to another format

To change items from an existing Store inventory listing to a new auction-style format or fixed price format listing:

  1. Go to My eBay. You may be asked to sign in.

  2. In the Sell section, click the Active link.

    • If you use Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro, click the Active link and use the Active Listings page instead.

  3. Select the Store inventory listing you want to change and click the Send to Online Auction or Send to Fixed Price button.

    • If you use Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro, go to the Active Listings view instead..

  4. On the Edit page, select options for the new online listing, and click the Continue button.

  5. On the Review & Submit page, verify your listing options and applicable fees, and then click the Submit Listing button.

Changing multiple Store inventory listings to another format

To change items from multiple Store inventory listings to multiple auction format or fixed price listings simultaneously:

  1. Go to My eBay. You may be asked to sign in.

  2. In the Sell section, click the Active link.

    • If you use Selling Manager or Selling Manager Pro, click the Active link and use the Active Listings page instead.

  3. Select Store Inventory Only from the Format drop-down menuso that only your Store inventory listings will appear on the list.

    • If you use Selling Manager Pro, go to the Active Listings view, then click the Show: Store Items link.

  4. Click the check box next to each listing whose format you want to change.

  5. Click one of the following buttons at the bottom of the section:

    • Send to Online Auction format

    • Send to Fixed Price

  6. Fill out the information you want to change, and then click the Continue button.

  7. On the Review & Submit page, verify your listing options and applicable fees, and then click the Submit button.

Using listings with variations

Another way to make shopping easier for your customers is to use multi-quantity listings with variations. A listing with variations is one that shows a single item that is available in any number of variations, such as a T-shirt available in different colors or sizes.

See the List your product with variations tutorial.

If you change your Store inventory listings to multiple item listings with variations, we recommend that you start anew by listing your items with the Sell Your Item form, or if you use Selling Manager Pro, you can create a product and template.

Relisting unsold items

When an auction-style or fixed price listing ends, your unsold items will not automatically be relisted as Store inventory listings. You can relist them by going to the Unsold section of My eBay and clicking the Relist link.
