About Managing Your Listing

Reviewing your listing’s effectiveness and managing communications from bidders is an important part of the selling process. Here are a few tips on how to keep buyers interested and protect yourself after your have listed your item.

  • Find your listing to see if it appears in the search results and displays correctly. Check and correct your gallery image if necessary.

  • Answer buyer’s questions promptly.Be sure to read the entire email and to respond promptly and accurately. Post your answers to buyer’s questions on your View Item page. Other buyers might have the same questions.

  • Use My eBay’s view of items you are selling to check the status of all of your listings. You can also receive email updates by setting your notification preferences in My eBay.

  • If you need to, you can manage bidders including pre-approving or blocking bidders.

  • If you need to make a change to your listing, please read Revising Your Listing. The information that you can revise in your listing depends on the time left before the listing ends, and whether or not you have received any bids. In most cases, you cannot change the listing format. For example,  you cannot change an auction-style listing to an eBay Stores listing.

  • If you have an unexpected event or something happens to the item, you can end your listing early.
