When you list an item using the Fixed Price format, you can sell your items immediately at a set price.
With the Fixed Price format:
There is no bidding involved. You are offering one or more items for sale at a Buy It Now price.
Your listing attracts buyers who want to purchase items instantly at a set price.
Fixed Price items display in eBay's normal browse and search results pages. The Buy It Now icon displays beside the item title.
Buy it Now items display in the All Items tab and the Buy It Now tab on the search results page.
If you qualify, you can sell multiple identical items in one listing.
Listing a Fixed Price item
In the How you're selling section of the Sell Your Item form, select the Fixed Price tab.
You can also add the Best Offer feature to your Fixed Price listing. Best Offer allows buyers to suggest a price they are willing to pay for an item, and can be used with any listing that is not an auction-style listing. Best Offer is valuable if you selected Fixed Price to avoid low bids, but you are also willing to accept a little less money for your item. Potential buyers may submit only one Best Offer for an item, so you may receive offers close to your Fixed Price.
Fees for Fixed Price items
Items listed in the Fixed Price format have the same Insertion and Final Value Fees as online auction listings. The fee amount is based on the Buy It Now price you set.
Limitations
To create a Fixed Price listing with a quantity of one, you must have a feedback rating of 10 or more (or be ID Verified). If you have a PayPal account and accept PayPal as a payment method on the listing, your feedback rating only needs to be 5 or more.
To create a Fixed Price listing with a quantity of two or more, you must have a feedback rating of 30 or more and be a registered user for at least 14 days (or be ID Verified). If you have a PayPal account and accept PayPal as a payment method on the listing, your feedback rating only needs to be 15 or more.
Different ways of selling at a fixed price
Here is a comparison of the three ways you can list items at a set price.
Fixed Price (Buy It Now)
When you list an item as Buy It Now only:
Buyers can purchase your item immediately at the price you set, but they cannot bid on your item.
The Buy It Now price is always available.
You can sell more than one item per listing.
You can also add the Best Offer feature.
Auctions with a Buy It Now price
You can add a Buy It Now price to your online auction listing:
Buyers will have the option to buy your item immediately or place a bid on your item.
The Buy It Now option will only be available when there are no bids on the item or until the reserve price is met. Once there’s a bid or the reserve price is met, the option disappears. (For items in certain categories, the Buy It Now option may be available after the first bid, but it is still only available for a limited time. For more information, visit the discussion board.)
Auctions with a Buy It Now price also display in the Auctions tab.
You can only sell one item per listing.
A fee also applies for all auction-style listings that include a Buy It Now price, since these items have slightly increased visibility on the browse and search results pages.
Store item format
If you have an eBay Store, you can list a Store item at a fixed price:
The item will appear only in your eBay Store and in cross-merchandising for your other listings.
There is a lower Insertion Fee per 30 days (up to 120 days), regardless of quantity.
You can conveniently sell accessories, add-ons, and deep inventory.
