Here's a complete checklist for selling on eBay. For details about each step, see Getting started selling on eBay.

Become a registered eBay seller.
Let us know how you would like to pay your seller fees.
Confirm your identity with an automated phone call or by contacting Customer Service.
Sign up to accept PayPal.
Research your item.
Make sure your item is legal in general and OK to sell on eBay. (Learn more about prohibited and restricted items.)
Select a selling format (such as auction-style, fixed price, and Classified Ad).
Search active and completed listings for listing category and pricing ideas.
Calculate shipping costs and look at other ways you can optimize your shipping.
Create your listing.
As you create your listing, we make recommendations based on research of similar listings. The recommendations are designed to help you  sell your items faster and at better prices.

Start selling:
  1. Click Sell at the top of most eBay pages.

  2. On the Sell page, click the List your item button. You may be asked to sign in.

  3. Select a category by searching, browsing, or using a previous category selection.

Create your listing:
  1. The first few times you list, you may be asked to choose a listing form.

  2. Based on the category you choose, you'll be asked to include important details about your item.

    • If your item matches a product in our catalog (for example, if it's a book, DVD, cell phone, or other electronic item), you'll be offered product details and a stock photo from our catalog.

    • For items in other categories, you'll be asked to fill out item specifics such as the item's condition, size, or style.

  3. Complete the listing form.

Manage your listing.
Track your listing in My eBay.
Answer all questions you receive from potential buyers.
Wrap up with your buyer.
If you used checkout or PayPal and your buyer completes checkout or pays by PayPal, respond quickly to payment notification and ship the item as you specified in your listing.
You can also use checkout to send the buyer an invoice.
If you didn't use checkout, contact the buyer directly by email or phone within 3 days of the end of the listing.
Ship your item safely and on time.
Important: If you haven't heard from the buyer or received checkout or PayPal notification within 3 days of your listing's end, contact the buyer directly.
Leave buyer Feedback.
