Categorization of Listings Items must be listed in the appropriate category. Violations of this policy may result in a range of actions, including:
Note: To report a violation about misuse of keywords (for example, using brand names inappropriately), see the Keyword Spam Policy. Some Examples
Additional Information Guidelines for listing items are outlined in the eBay User Agreement. Item listings that belong in the Mature Audiences category that are found outside of that category will be ended. Listings that contain content that can be digitally downloaded or transferred must be listed in the Classified Ad Format in the Everything Else>Information Products category only. All listings for digital items outside of that category will be considered a policy violation. Why does eBay have this policy? Categorizing items in an inappropriate category results in a poor shopping and finding experience for buyers since incorrect categorization returns listings in which the buyer may have no interest. Incorrect categorization also results in an unlevel playing field for sellers who categorize their items appropriately and may receive fewer potential buyers. | ||
