PayPal is the preferred payment method for most eBay buyers and sellers, and lets you send payments securely online using a credit card or bank account. When you send a payment using PayPal, the recipient won't ever see your credit card or bank account information. Learn more about how eBay and PayPal work together.
Before you send a payment using PayPal:
Make sure the seller accepts PayPal as a payment method.
Make sure your PayPal email address is correct.
Paying for a single item with PayPal
Depending on whether or not the seller is using our checkout system, the steps to complete payment are different. If your seller does not use eBay checkout, he or she will send you an invoice or other payment instructions to help you complete your purchase.
To pay for an item when the seller uses eBay checkout:After you've won an item, click the Pay Now button. You can find this button in the listing, in the Won section of My eBay, and in the confirmation email that you receive from us.
Check your shipping address. If any information is incorrect, click the Change shipping address link to update it. (The seller may require a credit card billing address registered with PayPal, sometimes called a confirmed address.)
Confirm the order details, including shipping and taxes. Click the Continue button. (If you have questions about the total cost, click the Request total from seller link.)
Select PayPal as the payment method.
Enter your PayPal log in information. If you don’t already have a PayPal account, you can sign up.
Make sure that your shipping details, payment method, and order details are correct.
Click the Confirm Your Payment button to complete your purchase.
If for some reason you are unable to pay from eBay by using the Pay Now button, or if you decide to pay for an item with PayPal after you complete checkout, you can pay for eBay items directly from PayPal. You will still be covered by PayPal Buyer Protection.
To pay for an item directly through PayPal:Log in to your PayPal account.
Click the Send Money tab.
Click the Pay for eBay Items link.
Click the Pay button next to the item for which you would like to send a payment.
If necessary, edit the details of your payment.
Click the Continue button.
Click the Send Money button.
Note: To pay directly through PayPal, you need to add your eBay account to your PayPal profile. This is different from linking your accounts.
Paying for multiple items with PayPal
You can pay for multiple items with PayPal with one easy payment, as long as the sellers use eBay's checkout system. You can combine payments to multiple sellers as long as:
All sellers allow multiple seller payments.
All items are in the same currency, for example, U.S. dollars.
All items accept PayPal as a payment method.
All items were won or purchased within the last 30 days.
You haven’t already paid with PayPal or completed checkout for these items.
To pay for multiple items using eBay Checkout:Click the Won link on the left side of the page.
Click the Pay For All PayPal Items button on the bottom of the page. This option is only available if you purchased items from multiple sellers who offer PayPal as a payment method.

Note: If your items are being shipped to different addresses, you’ll need to pay for these items separately.
Must use Buy It Now and PayPal.
