Saving your Favorite Searches

You can save up to 100 searches for easy viewing. You can even have eBay automatically search for items you're interested in and notify you by email when new matching items are listed. Once you save a Favorite Search, you can run the search at any time and edit the search, as needed.

To save a Favorite Search:

On the left side of your My eBay page, click the "Searches" link under All Favorites.
Click the "Add new Search" link next to My Favorite Searches at the top of the page.
Enter your search criteria, and click the Search button.
In the Name this search box, keep the suggested search name or enter a new name for your search.
If you'd like to receive email notification when new items are listed, select the length of time that you'd like to receive the email notifications from the drop-down list. (The check box for receiving email notification is selected by default.)
Click the Save button. Your search is saved to your Favorite Searches in My eBay.

Finding items with your Favorite Search

You can find items with your Favorite Search in My eBay. To search for items, click the "Searches" link under All Favorites on the left side of your My eBay page. Then click the search name. You can also access up to three of your most recently added Favorite Searches on the Home page, under the search box.

Tip: If you're using the same Favorite Searches frequently, you can sort by Time: newly listed to display the newest results at the top of the search results page.

Editing a Favorite Search

Once you’ve saved a Favorite Search, you can rename the search or change email preferences for the search.

To edit a saved search, from the left column of My eBay, click the "Searches" link under All Favorites. Find the search that you want to edit, and click the "Edit Search" link to the right of the search. Edit the information as needed, and click the Save button.

Viewing your Favorite Searches on the Home page

The Favorite Searches that appear on the Home page are defaulted to your three most recently added searches.

If you would prefer to hide your Favorite Searches on the Home page, you can disable this feature.

Go to My eBay, and click the "Preferences" link under My Account on the left side of the page. Scroll down to the General Preferences section, and click the "Show" link next to My eBay. Clear the check box next to "Show my Favorite Searches on the home page search area" option, and click the Apply button.

Saving your Favorite Vehicles

You can add the vehicles you want or own to your Favorite Searches. You can also sign up to receive emails whenever there are new related items on eBay.

To save a vehicle:

Go to the eBay Motors Home page, and under the Saved Vehicles heading in the right column, click the "Add vehicles" link.
Select details about your vehicle, and then select whether you own it or want it.
Optional: If you'd like to receive email notification when new items are listed, select the length of time that you'd like to receive the email notifications from the drop-down list. (The check box for receiving email notification is selected by default.)
Click the Save button. Your search is saved to your My Favorite Searches in My eBay.

After you save a vehicle, from the list in the Action column in My eBay, you can:

Find parts and accessories
Find vehicles
Sell this vehicle
Find all related items
See completed listings
Add another vehicle
Edit vehicle

Editing your Saved Vehicles

Once you've saved a vehicle, you can change email preferences or update whether you own or want the vehicle. To edit a vehicle, from the left column of My eBay, click the "Searches" link under All Favorites. Click the "Edit Vehicle" link next to the vehicle that you want to edit.

You can also access and edit your saved vehicles from the Home page of eBay Motors.

Saving your Favorite Sellers

You can save sellers and eBay Stores that you want to find quickly in the future. You can also:

Add a Favorite Seller by clicking on the "Add to Favorite Sellers" link from a View Item page.
Add a Favorite Store by clicking on the "Add to My Favorite Stores" link from the eBay Store page.

To save a new seller or Store as a favorite:

From the left column of My eBay, click the “Sellers” link under All Favorites.
On the My Favorite Sellers page, click the “Add Seller or Store” link.
On the Add to My Favorite Sellers and Stores page, enter the seller’s User ID or the Store name.
Click the Continue button.
Optional: You can add a note about the seller or Store that will be visible only to you.
Optional: To receive an email summary of items available from the seller, select the Favorite Sellers Top Picks email check box.
Optional: To receive email newsletters from the seller, select the General Interest check box. (Not available for all sellers)
Click the Save Seller/Store button to save the seller or Store.

After you save your Favorite Sellers or Stores, on the My Favorite Sellers page, from the list in the Actions column, you can:

Edit your preferences and indicate your choice for email receipt.
View other items offered by your favorite seller.
View other items offered by your favorite Store.

Viewing your Favorite Sellers Top Picks

You can see select items from each of your Favorite Sellers. You can have them sent to you by email or you can view them online. You can choose whether to receive emails weekly, bi-weekly, or monthly.

Note: Sellers can select their Top Picks specifically or let eBay automatically choose which to display.

To view your Favorite Sellers’ Top Picks by email:

From the left column of My eBay, click the “Sellers” link under All Favorites.
On the My Favorite Sellers page, click the “Edit Preferences” link next to the seller you want to receive emails from.
On the Edit Preferences page, select the check box.
Optional: Add a note for yourself about the seller or Store.
Click the Save button.

To view your Favorite Sellers’ Top Picks online:

From the left column of My eBay, click the “Sellers” link under All Favorites.
On the My Favorite Sellers page, click the “See Top Picks from Favorite Sellers” link.

Subscribing to Store Newsletters

You can sign up for Store Newsletters and receive an email newsletter when one of your favorite sellers’ eBay Stores has promotions, news, or new listings. Each Store seller can have up to 5 mailing lists, and interested buyers can subscribe to up to 5 mailing lists at a time.

Notes: Sellers may or may not send regular newsletters. They are prohibited from sending more than one newsletter per week to each of their mailing lists. If you subscribe to a Store Newsletter, the seller will never see your name, email address, or any other personally-identifiable information, only your eBay user ID.

To subscribe to Store Newsletters:

From the left column of My eBay, click the “Sellers” link under All Favorites.
On the My Favorite Sellers page, click the “Edit Preferences” link next to the Store whose newsletter you’d like to subscribe to.
Select the check box to subscribe to the newsletter.
Click the Save button.
Tip: If a seller is already on your Favorite Sellers list, click on the “Edit Preferences” link to view their newsletter mailing lists.

To unsubscribe from Store Newsletters, you can either remove the seller from your Favorites, or click the “Edit Preferences” link and clear the check box next to the Store Newsletter from which you’d like to unsubscribe.

Viewing your Recent Sellers

You can view the last 10 sellers and the items you’ve bid on or purchased in the My Recent Sellers and Stores section in the Favorite Seller View. You can add these sellers to your Favorite Sellers list by clicking the "Add to Favorite Sellers" link. You can also view the sellers’ other items.

Note: The sellers in your list can change frequently, depending upon your bidding or buying activity. To ensure that you can always find the sellers you’re most interested in, add them to your Favorite Sellers list in My eBay.

Saving and viewing your Favorite Categories

Instead of clicking through multiple pages to get to your favorite eBay categories, you can save time by saving your Favorite Categories. Once you save a Favorite Category, you can view the items in that category at any time, and delete the category if you longer need it.

To save a Favorite Category:

From the left column of My eBay, click the “Categories” link under All Favorites.
Click the “Add a new Category” link at the top, right of the page.
Select the category you want to save.
Click the Save button.

To view items in a Favorite Category:

From the left column of My eBay, click the “Categories” link under All Favorites.
Select the check box for the category that includes the items you want to view.
Do one of the following:
- To see all items in the category, click the “All Active” link.
- To see all items in the category that start today, click the “Starting Today” link.
- To see all items in the category that end today, click the “Ending Today” link.
- To see all items in the category that end within the next 5 hours, click the “Ending Within 5 Hours” link.

To delete a Favorite Category:

From the left column of My eBay, click the “Categories” link under All Favorites.
Select the check box for the category you want to delete, and click the Delete button.

Using shortcuts to My Favorites

Once you've saved a Favorite Search, seller, or category, you can access it even when you're not in My eBay by using the Shortcuts to My Favorites located at the bottom of most eBay pages. From the menu, select a Favorite Search, Seller, or Category, and you'll go instantly to that favorite.
