About Skype
Skype, an eBay company, is a software application that allows you to chat or call from your computer. With Skype you can talk to anyone, anywhere for free. (If you’re going to make a phone call, you’ll need speakers and a microphone, and the person you’re calling must also have the program on their computer.)
Downloading Skype
To get started, download and install Skype.
Creating a Skype name
After you install Skype, you'll create a Skype name and password. This is the name that other people will use to contact you on Skype.
To create a Skype name: Open Skype on your computer.
Click the “Don’t have a Skype Name?” link.
Note: If you already registered a Skype name on eBay, you can use that account to sign in to the Skype application. You don’t have to create a new Skype name.
Signing in to Skype
After you create a Skype name, sign in to Skype to chat with or call other people.
To sign in to Skype: Open Skype on your computer.
Type your Skype name and password, and click the Sign in button.
Begin using Skype to connect.
