Customizing your profile

Every eBay member has a profile. Your profile is your own space on eBay where other members can learn about you and your interests.

What you can do with your profile

Your profile contains basic information like your username and recent Feedback, and a link to any items you have for sale. You can add photos and a description to personalize it and share a bit about yourself.

  • Add custom content: Choose a cover photo and a profile photo for other members to see when they visit. To look their best, cover photos should be 1200 pixels wide x 270 pixels tall, and up to 4MB in size.

  • Promote yourself: Enter a description to tell others about yourself, your interests, and what inspires you.

You can share a link to your profile, or find other members' profiles using the profile URL: www.ebay.com/usr/<username>. For example, if your username were ebayseller1, your profile URL would be: www.ebay.com/usr/ebayseller1

Customize your profile

You can add photos and an introduction to personalize your profile:

  1. Click Hi, (your name) in the upper left corner of any eBay page.

  2. In the box that opens, click your username to open your profile.

Once you open your profile, click Edit profile to make changes. You can:

  • Add a profile photo by clicking the pencil symbol in the upper right corner of the photo box.

  • Add a background photo by clicking Change cover. Then, click Reposition cover and drag your photo to where you want it. Click save when you're finished.

  • Add an introduction or description by clicking in the text box.

To save your changes, click Done Editing.
