We send you notifications as soon as anything happens with your account, such as when you get outbid, or when an item has sold. For security reasons, you can't choose not to receive these notifications. You can, however, choose how and when you get other types of notifications.
Setting your communication preferences
To set your communication preferences:Click My eBay at the top of most eBay pages. You may be asked to sign in.
Place your pointer over the Account tab, and then click Communication
Preferences.
To see all of your communication preferences, click the Show all link at the top of the page.
Set or change the preferences you want.
Not getting notifications even after you've set your preferences?
Try checking your junk mail folder. You can also find messages by going to My eBay and clicking the Messages tab.
Choosing how you're notified
You automatically receive notifications by email at your registered email address. In the Delivery Options section, you can choose whether to receive HTML or text-only email messages. You can also get alerts about items.
Tip: To select a different email address for receiving notifications, click the Edit link next to your registered email address.
Getting too much mail from us?
For many types of messages, we let you choose how often you want to be notified.
However, when the Real-time option is gray, this means it's your only option and can't be changed. When Real-time is black, you'll see other options when you click the drop-down menu.

Tip: You can also choose not to receive promotional emails. Make your choices under Promotions and Surveys at the bottom of the page, and then click the Save button.
Buying and selling notifications
In the Buyer and Seller sections, you can choose how and when you get notified about your buying and selling activity.
Buyer

How you get notified about:
Items you're buying or bidding on. Your saved sellers and saved searches.

Seller |
How and when you get notified about your listings and other selling activity.
Selling Activity lets you choose to get notified at each stage of your listing, for example, when an item sells or when checkout is completed. |
Note: Best Offer notifications are automatically sent in real-time and can't be changed.
General communication preferences
In this section, you can choose to get notified when:
You get a Second Chance Offer (in the Member-to-Member Communications section).
Changing your survey preferences
Sometimes we send surveys to our members to help make eBay better. You can choose whether or not to receive these surveys in the Communication Preferences section of My eBay.
To change your survey preferences:Click My eBay at the top of most eBay pages. You may be asked to sign in.
Place your pointer over the Account tab, and then click Communication Preferences.
Click the Show link in the Promotions and Surveys section.
To receive surveys from eBay, select the check box next to eBay surveys and research. To stop receiving surveys, clear the check box.
