For information on payment requirements, late fees, and payment schedules, see Your Payment Due Date.
To learn about one-time payments, see Making a One-time Payment.
When you start selling on eBay, you are required to select an automatic payment method for any seller fees you may be charged. If you prefer, you can use ID verified to confirm your identity, and select an automatic payment method at another time.
You have a choice of three automatic payment methods:
PayPal
Direct Pay
Credit card
If want to set up an automatic payment method, follow the same steps as Updating your automatic payment method.
Paying by PayPal
PayPal is a safe, convenient way to automatically pay your eBay seller fees. When you set up Automatic PayPal Payments, your seller fees are automatically deducted from your PayPal account no sooner than 10 days after you receive your invoice.
PayPal first attempts to withdraw funds from your PayPal account balance.
If there are insufficient funds in the PayPal account, PayPal uses the funding source you selected when you signed up for automatic PayPal payments.
If you didn’t select a preferred funding source during that process, PayPal uses your other PayPal funding sources.
Changing your PayPal funding source
You can change your PayPal funding source for eBay seller fees at any time.
From the PayPal home page, log in to your PayPal account.
Click the Profile tab.
In the Financial Information column, click the "Preapproved Payments" link.
Click the "Edit Funding Source" link to change your funding sources.
Click the Save button.
If a payment from this preferred funding source fails, (for example, the credit card expires), the eBay invoice amount can be paid from other available funding sources.
Note: You can prevent certain funding sources from being used for Automatic PayPal Payments from the Preapproved Payments page in your PayPal Profile.
You can update the PayPal account on file on for automatic payments at any time. To ensure that the new information is used for an invoice payment, please update the account before the end of your billing cycle (either the end of the month or the 15th of the month).
Paying by Direct Pay
You can have eBay automatically deduct your seller fees from your checking account on the same day each month. This day is based on the date you are invoiced. This option is available to sellers billed in U.S. dollars with U.S. bank accounts. If you select this option, you’ll need to provide your routing and checking account numbers, which are shown on the bottom of your checks.
Checking accounts are billed no sooner than the 20th of the month if you are invoiced at the end of the month, and no sooner than the 5th of the following month if you are invoiced in the middle of the month.
You can update your checking account information at any time.
