Sneakers Seller Updates for Sellers Integrated with APIs
Starting in October, eBay will be providing a label at no cost to you—so you can ship your Authenticity Guarantee-eligible sneakers to our authentication center upon sale. If you’re currently fulfilling orders and creating shipping labels via APIs, you’ll need to log in to ebay.com to take advantage of this new feature. Your free label will be available in My eBay or Seller Hub.
Additionally, there are other changes impacting APIs—such as a new handling time requirement, new notifications, and more. Here’s what you need to know:
Listing Trading APIs & Inventory APIs
When an item is added, revised, or relisted and eligible for a free shipping label:
- You’ll receive a message via the API response, informing you that your listing is eligible for eBay shipping. The domestic shipping costs, shipping discounts, and rate tables (if provided) will no longer be applicable.
- You will be required to have a handling time of 3 business days or less.
- Local pickup only is not a supported shipping option.
Order Management APIs
With Order Management Trading APIs, orders that qualify for a free eBay shipping label will have a dedicated indicator and you can access these free labels through My eBay or Seller Hub.

The new Fulfillment API will include a similar eBay shipping indicator along with visibility into the eBay-collected shipping fees that the buyer paid on the order.
