We’re simplifying Motorcycle categories to make listing and shopping easier

We’re updating the Motorcycle category experience on eBay by rolling make- and model-specific subcategories into one simplified Motorcycle leaf category (6024).

Instead of asking sellers to navigate a deep category structure, vehicle aspects such as Make, Model, Year, and Body Type will be utilized from the structured data powered by eBay’s vehicle data. This helps create a cleaner, more consistent listing experience while continuing to support strong buyer discovery through search, browse, filters, and item specifics.

This change is designed to benefit both sellers and buyers:

For sellers, it reduces listing friction by making it easier to choose the right category, avoids unnecessary “Other” category selections, and eliminates duplicate steps where vehicle information is entered both through categories and item specifics.

For buyers, it improves discovery by making motorcycle listings more consistent and easier to filter, search, and compare using structured vehicle details.

For the marketplace, it creates a more scalable category structure that can better support new makes and models over time without relying on frequent manual category updates.
