Questions and Answers

Why are payments going to eBay?

The most important feature of the new payment process is that the buyer generally pays eBay—not the seller. If you buy from eBay.de, your purchase will be covered by eBay Buyer Protection.

Do payments always go to eBay?

No, only when you buy from a seller who uses the new payment process. When you pay for an item, you'll be able to see whether payment goes to eBay or the seller. Note: Not all eBay sellers use the new payment process.

What's PayPal's role in the new payment process?

With the new payment process, buyers can use the same payment methods for all listings, including PayPal. PayPal is still usually the fastest way for buyers to get their order.

How does the seller know when to ship the item?

Once eBay has received your payment, the seller will be notified to ship the item to you.

Who should you contact with further questions?

Please contact eBay Customer Support for all payment questions. For questions about the item itself or shipping, contact the seller.

How can you tell whether eBay has received your payment?

The item will automatically be marked as paid in My eBay, and the euro symbol will turn blue. Always be sure to complete checkout and follow the payment instructions when you purchase any item on eBay.
