1) How to Enter. This eBay Motors Real People, Real Stories Sweepstakes (Sweepstakes) begins at 10:00 AM Pacific Standard Time (PST) July 1, 2003 and ends at 11:59 PM PST August 31, 2003 (Entry Period). There are two (2) ways to enter this sweepstakes, online or by U.S. Mail. To enter the Sweepstakes online, access the eBay Motors Real People, Real Stories Sweepstakes website, located online at http://pages.ebay.com/ebaymotors/stories and click on the link for the Sweepstakes promotion. Follow the instructions provided to complete the online registration form and click to submit. You will be asked to answer questions pertaining to the eBay Motors testimonials posted on http://pages.ebay.com/ebaymotors/stories. Upon successfully completing the online entry form and answering the questions, the entrant will receive one (1) entry into the Sweepstakes. The questions will change each week during the promotion period. Entrants must complete all required information on the online entry form to be eligible and must answer the questions provided correctly to qualify for entry. To enter the Sweepstakes by U.S. Mail, print your name, street address, city, state, Zip and e-mail address (if any) on a 3½x5 piece of paper, insert in an envelope, affix postage and mail to: The eBay Real People, Real Stories Sweepstakes, P.O. Box 4010, Grand Rapids, Minnesota 55730-4010. Limit one (1) entry per person per week according to the Entry Deadline chart below, regardless of entry method. Sponsor is not responsible for lost, late or misdirected entries, alteration of entries, or for stolen, postage due, illegible, mutilated or misdirected entries or mail or for any computer, online, telephone, or human error or technical malfunctions that may occur. Entry materials that have been tampered with or altered are void. No copies, facsimiles or reproductions of entry form will be accepted. Proof of e-mailing or mailing does not constitute proof of delivery. All entries become the exclusive property of Sponsor and are subject to the terms set forth herein. Use of http://www.ebay.com (the eBay Site) and the eBay Motors Site (defined below) is subject to the eBay User Agreement available on the eBay Site. All information collected from you in the course of your use of the eBay Site and your participation in this Sweepstakes will be used in accordance with the eBay Privacy Policy located at http://pages.ebay.com/help/community/png-priv.html. ELIGIBLE ENTRANTS MAY ENTER THE SWEEPSTAKES EITHER ONLINE OR VIA THE MAIL-IN METHOD. NO OTHER METHOD OF ENTRY WILL BE ACCEPTED.

Entry Deadlines

*Entry Periods begin at 12:00AM PT on start date of each Entry Period and end at 11:59PM PT on end date of each Entry Period, except for Entry Period #1, which starts at 10:00AM PT.

2) Drawing for Winners: Potential prize winners will be determined in a random drawing to take place on or about September 10, 2003, from among all eligible entries received during the Entry Period online and by U.S. Mail. Drawing conducted by Marden-Kane Inc., an independent judging organization whose decisions are final on matters relating to this Sweepstakes. Odds of winning depend on the total amount of eligible entries received. Marden-Kane will notify potential winners by e-mail and/or U.S. mail. The Grand and First Prize winners will be required to sign an affidavit of eligibility and where legal, a consent to publicity, liability waiver, and return same, properly executed within fourteen (14) days of issuance. Failure to sign and return affidavit in time noted will result in disqualification of entry and an alternate winner[s] will be selected. The Grand and First Prize winners will be required to furnish his/her social security number which will be used only for the purpose of reporting the winner's prize earnings to the Internal Revenue Service as required by law. If a prize or prize notification is unclaimed or returned as undeliverable, or if a winner fails to properly sign and return all forms described herein, the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner. Sponsor reserves all rights, including the right to edit, publish, use, adapt, modify, or dispose of any proper names, likenesses, photographs, and/or city/states without further consideration or payment to the entrant online, in print, or in any other media for advertising and promotional purposes for this and similar promotions in all media (including and without limitation, the Internet) without additional compensation, except where prohibited by law. If an entrant changes his/her telephone number, e-mail address and/or street address after he/she enters the Sweepstakes, it is his/her sole responsibility to notify the Sponsor by (postal) mailing notice to the Sweepstakes Administrator address (listed below) to be received by the end of the Entry Period.

3) Prizes: One (1) Grand Prize will be awarded: Up to fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) towards the purchase of a car on http://pages.ebay.com/ebaymotors (the eBay Motors Site). Complete terms and conditions will be furnished with prize notification. Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $50,000. Ten (10) First Prizes will be awarded: A gift card valued at two thousand dollars ($2,000.00) that can be used towards the purchase of gasoline. Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $2,000 each. One Thousand (1,000) Second Prizes will be awarded: A gift card valued at thirty dollars ($30.00) that can be used towards the purchase of gasoline. Approximate Retail Value (ARV): $30 each. Total ARV of all prizes: $100,000. No prize substitutions, cash equivalent, or transfer of prizes permitted except at the sole discretion of the Sponsor. The Grand Prize winner must use the fifty thousand dollars ($50,000.00) towards the purchase of a car on the eBay Motors Site. Use of the eBay Motors Site is subject to the terms and conditions of the then-current eBay User Agreement and all policies incorporated therein. Additional Grand Prize terms and conditions will be furnished with prize notification. Any and all warranties for merchandise selected by the Grand Prize winner are subject to the manufacturers terms and conditions, and the Grand Prize winner agrees to look solely to such manufacturers for any such warranty claim. Usage of gift cards must be completed within one (1) year of award and are subject to the terms and conditions of card supplier. Prizes subject to availability and Sponsor reserves the right, at its sole discretion, to award a prize of greater or equal value if the advertised prize is unavailable. Any depiction of prize is for illustrative purposes only. Winners are responsible for payment of taxes on prizes and for any other expenses relating to the use of the prizes. Any and all portions of prizes that are not used by winners within the time periods set forth herein an accordance with these Official Rules will not be provided to winners.

4) Eligibility: This Sweepstakes is open to all legal U.S. residents (except residents of Florida), 18 years or older at time of entry. Employees of eBay Inc., and its respective subsidiaries, affiliates, prize suppliers and advertising and promotion agencies of eBay Inc., including Marden-Kane Inc., and their immediate families (spouse, parents, children, siblings and their respective spouses) and individuals living in the same household as such employees are ineligible to enter or win. Void in Florida and Puerto Rico and where prohibited by law. This Sweepstakes is subject to all applicable federal, state, local laws and regulations.

5) Limitation of Liability: BY PARTICIPATING IN THE SWEEPSTAKES, ENTRANTS AGREE TO ABIDE BY THE TERMS OF THESE OFFICIAL RULES AND THE DECISIONS OF THE JUDGES, WAIVE ANY RIGHT TO CLAIM AMBIGUITY IN THE RULES, AND RELEASE, INDEMNIFY AND HOLD HARMLESS THE SPONSOR, MARDEN-KANE, INC.
