Recent Changes to the Sell Your Item Form

We recently announced that we made two changes to the Sell Your Item form. If you'd like to get a better understanding of these changes, please click on one of the links below:

Preview the View Item pages if the seller:
· Accepts escrow if the buyer pays
· Accepts and will pay for escrow
· Will not accept escrow

To recap the announcement, the two changes to the Sell Your Item form are:

(1) Default Sell Your Item form. The default Sell Your Item form is now the Sell Your Item form we have been previewing for about the last month. With over 4,000 categories on eBay, finding the right category to list your item in can be difficult. This form makes it easier to find the right category for your item.

The previous Sell Your Item form will still be accessible by clicking here.

(2) Escrow. In order to highlight services on eBay that promote safe trading, there is now a separate section for "Escrow" on the Sell Your Item form. Instead of having to choose simply whether or not you wish to accept escrow, this change enables you to choose between:

a.     I will accept escrow, buyer pays
b.     I will accept and pay for escrow
c.     I will not accept escrow

While we recommend that sellers choose option (a) above, please note that the default selection will be option (c)-"I will not accept escrow." We are suggesting that sellers accept escrow if the buyer pays for the escrow service because we believe that potential buyers may feel more comfortable knowing they have the option to use escrow.

The seller's choice will be reflected on the View Item page. If the seller is willing to accept escrow, the View Item page will display the choice as stated above. If the seller will not accept escrow, there will be no mention of the escrow on the View Item page.

As we previously announced, for those sellers who selected “online escrow” while listing an item between February 19, 2000 and February 29, 2000, AND such listing is scheduled to end after February 29, 2000, the View Item page will state "Escrow: Accepted if buyer pays for escrow." We apologize for any inconvenience this may cause and thank you for your understanding during this brief transition period.
