Accurate descriptions and a commitment to "do what you say you'll do" leaves customers satisfied. And his high feedback score puts new buyers at ease.

eBay Store adds steam to Trainz' sales

Scott is very pleased with the performance of his Premium Store. "It's great to have a central place to organize all of my listings and extend my brand. The

Store Inventory listing format has allowed me to boost my sales by about 10%, by making it easy and profitable to list lower-priced accessories and commodity items I can constantly keep in stock." While Scott runs his own Web site as well, his eBay Store sales make up the greatest portion of his profits. In 2006, Scott's eBay sales topped $2 million! Trainz now has 18 full-time employees, and his eBay Store is chugging full speed ahead.

Scott's tips for success
• Post clear, buyer-friendly Store policies. "Explain precisely how you do business and stick to what you promise."
• Enlist professional help "Don't hesitate to hire professionals to help you with design or other aspects of your business. Sometimes an expert can get better results in a hour than you could get in days."
• Be an expert on your product line. "Show your product knowledge in every listing through complete, knowledgeable descriptions. Include pictures that showcase the features and details buyers care about most."
• Offer combined shipping discounts. "Charge reasonable shipping rates and pass on combined shipping savings to your buyers to encourage multiple purchases."
• Drive traffic with Auction-style listings. "I list 1,000 auctions a week, so I'm constantly putting my items in front of new buyers. This speeds turnover and feeds traffic to my Store Inventory listings as well."
• Sell a full range of products. "Don't make your customers shop elsewhere for any item they'll want when buying your products. Offering accessories adds additional sales and keeps customers on your site. It also provides a more satisfying shopping experience for your customers."
