Each email focuses on featured items and popular products, and despite the frequency of their emails, the company has an excellent open rate of 25%. To market to new customers and increase traffic, Novica runs five Featured Plus! listings per week in key categories, such as Sculpture, Paintings, and Glassware. And it seems to be working. Their 2006 eBay sales helped nearly 1,000 artisans with over 10,000 transactions.

• Provide excellent customer service. "Our 99.7% positive feedback rating helps new buyers feel comfortable, and the service keeps old customers coming back."
• Answer customer questions quickly "We try to answer questions within 24 hours."
• Provide tracking information. "We send confirmations with tracking information upon shipping. It keeps customers informed and helps our feedback."
• Offer a return policy. "Knowing they can return an item if it's not what they expect reassures buyers, increases sales, and keeps our feedback rating high."
