checks what customers are looking for, what keywords they use, and popular sales days, using all of this data to improve her inventory and listing strategy.
Listing strategies that work

Cristiane has experimented with her listing strategy to see what optimizes sales and profits. Right now, she's listing about 40% of items in Fixed Price format, 40% as Auction-style, and 20% in Store Inventory format. She lists in Fixed Price format when she has aggressive price structures. The products turn over quickly, usually within 2-3 days, and get good exposure in eBay searches. She

finds many of her customers don't want to wait to buy high-end items, they'd rather pay a few dollars more and get it right away. She uses Auction-style listings to attract more buyers to items that are harder to sell, and Store Inventory format when she has large quantities of an item. When an item sells, another one is automatically relisted so she won't miss a sale.

Cristiane hopes to open another eBay Store soon for luggage and baby items. With solid research and sales to build on, there's no doubt her new Store will be a success, too.

Cristiane's tips for success
• Encourage multiple and repeat sales with Cross-Promotions. "If someone buys in one category, you can use Cross-Promotions to show them the other kinds of items you offer."
• Make good use of Markdown Manager "We run a Sale at least once a month. People notice when you reduce prices-it attracts new customers and gets past buyers to buy again."
• Organize your Store. "Use Store Categories and Subcategories to improve the buyer experience, making it faster and easier for your customers to shop."
• Spell out Store policies. "Buyers will want to know what your customer service policies are. Use Custom Pages to explain policies and tell your story."
• Create a memorable design. "Give your Store a branded look with your own color scheme and design."
• Include good pictures and descriptions. "Thoroughly describing your items and including high-quality photos makes you more credible and increases buyer confidence."
