eBay Stores and children's jewelry are a match made in heaven
Tara Barney started out as a buyer on eBay in 2001, shopping for hard-to-find clothes for her baby daughter. She discovered that there was a thriving community of moms on eBay with a similar interest in higher-end clothing lines for their children. |

| She participated in children's clothing forums on eBay Groups, and soon had the idea to combine her passion for dressing up her daughter with her love of making jewelry. In 2003, Tara launched Tara's Treasures, an eBay Store specializing in jewelry made to match the color schemes of her favorite children's clothing lines.
Tara found that having an eBay Store helped her overcome some of the challenges commonly associated with selling made-to-match jewelry. In individual listings, it was often difficult for buyers to find her products or grasp the concept of what she was trying to do. eBay Stores offered the perfect solution. She used Custom Pages extensively, displaying her jewelry on child models wearing the clothing lines her pieces were designed to match. When buyers could see the jewelry with the clothing lines, they understood the concept instantly. Soon, buyers were browsing though all the clothing lines their girls were wearing to find Tara's one-of-a-kind, made-to-match treasures, jewelry they couldn't find anywhere else. Sales blossomed, and multiple sales increased as well.

"eBay Stores has so many options, features, and ways to customize that you can never outgrow it. I like that you can design your Store to fit your image."

Tara's Treasures boosts sales with Premium Store benefits
Recently, Tara upgraded to a Premium Store to handle her increased volume, gain insight into her buyers' shopping patterns, and get even more Custom Pages to market her jewelry. The advanced Store Traffic Reporting tools let her track the shopping path of her customers to optimize her sales. She could see the referring domain and which of her ads were most effective. She saw the results her Custom Pages had on sales, noting, "If you send people who like Janie and Jack to a Custom Page showcasing jewelry matching that clothing line as opposed to the Store Home Page, they stay longer and buy more. The Custom Pages help my buyers find things easier and grab their attention with the items they love most."
Tara's Treasures makes use of eBay Stores Custom Categories to help improve buyers' shopping experiences. Her customers can easily find jewelry designs to match popular children's clothing lines or by holiday theme and style. While they're at it, moms can also find ladies' jewelry for themselves. Tara uses Cross-Promotion to expose buyers to designs that match other clothing lines, with great results. "Showcasing other designs really makes a difference in my sales, increasing multiple purchases." More >> |
