EBAY SUCCESS STORIES
Game Diva
GameDiva plays up her success with Premium Store tools
Karen Liu started out selling a few used video games on eBay in 2002. By 2003 she had opened her eBay Store, GameDiva. "I was a stay-at-home mom, and started selling games on eBay as a hobby.
As my sales grew, I realized I could turn that hobby into a real business. I knew lots of people shop on eBay, and it would be an easy way to reach nationwide and international customers."

Leveraging the power of Premium Store tools

Karen's sales have increased by more than 75% since opening her Store. She subscribes at the Premium Store level to get access to more advanced business tools. She also takes full advantage of the tools provided, including eBay Selling Manager Pro, a $15.99/month value that comes free as a benefit of her Premium Store subscription. "Selling Manager Pro gives me more time to list and manage my items. I love the summary screen. It tells me what sells the most, as well as what doesn't sell. It's a great tool to inform my inventory decisions."

Cross-Promotions help GameDiva boost her average transaction with multiple sales. "My average customer buys two or three items. They may start by looking for one

game, but then they see the other items I have cross-promoted and start buying more."

Karen optimizes her listings with the advanced data provided by her Featured Store Traffic Reports. "I look at the keywords people are using to find my Store, and I put those keywords in my listing titles and descriptions whenever appropriate. It helps me think like a buyer so I can sell more effectively."

eBay Express increases GameDiva's sales

GameDiva lists new products in auction-style format to draw new customers into her Store and get faster sales. But most of her listings are in Store Inventory format, which shows up on eBay Express. It's been a big source of new customers, and a boon for her business. "I have gotten a lot of new customers from eBay Express. With Traffic Reports I can see that one-third of my customers are coming from there now. It doesn't cost me any extra to have my Store Inventory format listings appear there, so it's really been great for my bottom line."

GameDiva goes international

From her beginnings on eBay, Karen recognized the potential of the international market. Shipping internationally is easy and a simple way to increase sales. "I get a lot of international buyers on eBay. More >>
