Q. How do I sign up for eBay’s Co-op Advertising Program?
A. If you’re interested in participating in eBay’s Co-op Advertising Program, please fill out Co-op Advertising Sign Up Form..

 
Q. How will eBay reimburse me for my advertising expenses?
A. You will receive a reimbursement payment, via PayPal, within 45 days of eBay's receipt of:
  • A Completed Co-op Ad Reimbursement Form
  • An original tear sheet of the ad as it appeared in publication
    (the entire tear sheet, not just your ad)
  • A copy of the invoice for the advertisement
  • A published rate card including circulation (10,000 minimum)


 
Q. Will I have to pay fees to accept the reimbursement via PayPal?
A. No. As part of the eBay Co-op Advertising Program, you will not be charged for receiving Co-op reimbursements via PayPal.

 
Q. Can I promote eBay on my website instead of using print media?
A. Eligibility for reimbursement through eBay's Co-op Advertising program is available for offline media only.

Q. How do I open an eBay store?
A. To open an eBay store, simply follow these steps:
  1. Visit: pages.ebay.com/storefronts/seller-landing.html
  2. Select option " Open Store Now" on the upper left side of the screen. This option will take you to a short narrated tour that will walk you through the process - and then you're in business!

 
Q. What is my eBay store URL?
A. Your URL is your website address that identifies your store, i.e., www.stores.ebay.com/anystoreusa.

 
Q. Why does my eBay store URL contain a number to identify my store and not my store name?
A. Each eBay Store contains two URL’s – one URL with a number designation (to avoid confusion when company names are identical or similar), and one URL that contains the actual name of your store (e.g., www.stores.ebay.com/anystoreusa). We encourage you to use (in your eBay Co-op print ad) the eBay Store URL that contains the actual name of your store.

 
Q. What publications qualify?
A. Qualifying publications are defined as:
  • Newspapers & Magazines - Only advertisements placed in net-paid, general circulation newspapers and/or magazines whose retail rates and current circulation are verifiable through independent audit are eligible.
  • Catalogs, Newsletters & Other Printed Materials - Catalogs, newspaper inserts or supplements, newsletters, and direct mail pieces qualify under this program only when unduplicated circulation is a minimum of 10,000. For these vehicles, a published rate card including circulation must be submitted with the advertisement as part of the reimbursement process

 
Q. What companies or users have used the Co-op advertising program?
A. Although we can not supply you with a list of Co-op advertising participants we can say that 91% of the participants have been very/extremely satisfied with the program to date.

 
Q. Will it increase my sales?
A. Although results will vary by participant, previous participants in eBay’s Co-op Advertising Program have experienced an increase on most key business metrics.

 
Q. Can I have my email address in the print ad?
A. Although you may refer to your individual web site or e-mail address in your ad, the eBay Store logo and your eBay Store URL must be prominently featured in your eBay Co-op ad (note: the eBay Store logo and your eBay Stores URL cannot be smaller than 1/8th of the overall ad).

In addition, your individual web site or email address may not be included in the header of your ad.


 
Q. Can I promote items in my ad I do not have on eBay?
A. As the purpose of your Co-op ad is to promote your products and services listed for sale on eBay, we recommend that you promote only your eBay items within your ad.

 
Q. Can I place a "buy" ad and use Co-op?
A. No, listings advertising a desire to buy or trade items are not allowed.

Q. What is Co-op advertising?
A. Co-op advertising is a method of joint advertising between you and eBay whereby eBay reimburses you a portion of your advertising costs in exchange for including an eBay Stores logo and your eBay Stores URL in your print advertising.

 
Q. What will the program cost me?
A. eBay’s Co-op Advertising Program itself does not cost you anything, it’s a value-added service to all qualified eBay users. When running a co-op ad , you’re responsible for all associated ad costs including artwork, production costs, and commissions. eBay, however, will reimburse you 25% of your media/advertising placement costs as indicated on the Co-op Advertising Allotment Table.

 
Q. What is an eBay Store?
A. eBay stores is a platform to help you maximize your business on eBay. Visit pages.ebay.com/storefronts/seller-landing.html - Select option “Open Store Now " on the upper left side of the screen to find our more about how to open an eBay Store.

 
Q.How long will the program be valid?
A. The eBay Co-op Program is an ongoing benefit provided exclusively to PowerSellers . Your ongoing participation in the program is voluntary. You will continue to be eligible for reimbursement assuming you meet one of the following guidelines:
  1. You are a PowerSeller (in good standing*), who operates an eBay Store
  2. You are a PoweSeller (in good standing*), and a Trading Assistant
Each quarter, you will be allotted a maximum level of reimbursement based on your PowerSeller level. Funds must be used within the given quarter. Funds will not carry over to the next quarter.

Q. How long will it take to get reimbursed?

Q. What is print media?

A. Yellow pages do count as print media as long as it has an unduplicated circulation of at least 10,000. A published rate card including circulation must be submitted with the advertisement as part of the reimbursement process.

 
Q. Can I use the regular eBay logo in my ad?
A. No, use of the standard eBay logo in your ad is not permitted. As the ad is supposed to be promoting your products or services, we ask that you use either the eBay Stores logo and your eBay Store URL or the Trading Assistants logo.

Q. Can I use the PowerSeller logo in my ad?
A. Yes, you are welcome to include the eBay Power Seller logo in your ad. Please refer to the guidelines provided in the PowerSeller Benefits section of the PowerSeller Portal, under program requirements.

 
Q. Can I use the Trading Assistant logo in my ad?
A. Yes, you are welcome to include the Trading Assistant logo in your ad. Please refer to the guidelines provided in the PowerSeller Benefits section of the PowerSeller Portal, under program requirements.

 
Q. How small can I make the eBay Co-op portion of the ad?
A. The size of the eBay Stores logo and your eBay Stores URL cannot exceed 1/4th of the overall ad and cannot be smaller than 1/8th of the overall ad.

 
Q. What does bleed mean?
A. When you print an image from your computer, there is a limited area of the paper that your particular printer can print cleanly on. (this varies from printer to printer) This produces a white border. When a print is said to be "full bleed" there is no border in the final product. In other words, the print continues to the edges. This is very common in products such as business cards, where full bleed is frequently desired.10% bleed would mean that roughly 10% of the image carries past the edges and would not be in the live print area.

 
Q. What's the correct layout for a two or three page ad?
A. If you are using one of the supplied templates, please be sure to include the template on each page of your ad.

If you have downloaded the eBay Stores logo, please be sure to include the logo and your eBay Store URL at the bottom of each page of the ad. You will also need to include the appropriate disclaimer which can be found on: http://www.ebay.com/co-op, in the ‘How to create your ad’ section.


 
Q. Can I place a text classified ad and not include a logo?
A. In order to be eligible for reimbursement, the appropriate logo (eBay Stores logo or Trading Assistants logo) must be included within your ad. Simply placing a text ad that does not include the appropriate logo, will render your ad ineligible for reimbursement.
