The new Combined Shipping Discounts feature gives you added flexibility when offering discounts for multiple item purchases. Drive additional sales by setting flexible discount rules customized by you for your business needs.
Combined Shipping Discounts Benefits:
- Enhanced Buyer Merchandising: Buyers browsing your items will see messaging encouraging the purchase of multiple items in order to take advantage of your combined shipping discounts
- Flexibility: You now have the ability to create shipping discount rules that account for the diversity of products you sell on eBay. Set various shipping discount rules based on product type, weight, or shape. For example, you may set different shipping discount rules for bowling balls versus bowling gloves.
- Promotional Shipping: Offer a shipping discount when the cost of a buyer's order reaches a certain price. For example, "Spend $25 on my items and receive Free Shipping!"
How Does it Work?
Combined Shipping Discounts will work with the eBay Shipping Calculator or if you enter your own shipping rate.
You set up the profiles and rules, and eBay does the rest! There are several different ways to set up combined shipping discounts:
For Calculated Shipping:
- Example 1: Charge my highest shipping cost for the heaviest item, and charge $X shipping for each additional item
- Example 2: Use combined weight of multiple items purchased to determine total shipping cost
- Example 3: Charge my full shipping cost for the heaviest item, and charge deduct a specified number of ounces from each additional item purchased
For Flat Shipping (entering your own shipping amount):
- Example 1: Charge my highest shipping rate for the first item, and charge $X shipping for each additional item
- Example 2: Charge my highest shipping rate for the first item, and shipping for each additional item is free
- Example 3: Charge my highest shipping rate for the first item, and deduct $X shipping for each additional item
- Example 3: Charge my highest shipping rate for the first item, and deduct $% shipping for each additional item
Promotional Shipping:
- Example 1: Spend $X and shipping is free!
- Example 2: Spend no more than $X on shipping
- Example 3: Purchase X number of items and Shipping is $Y
How to set up Combined Shipping Discounts:
Go to My eBay and select Preferences under My Account. In the Selling Preferences section, select "Show" for "Combined payments and shipping discounts", then select "Edit".
While in the Shipping Discounts section, you may set up the rules and parameters you wish to offer.
