Help Buyers Find Your Items!
During the Sell Your Item (SYI) listing process, some categories offer the opportunity to provide more details (Item Specifics) about your item, like color, size, or processor speed. These details display to buyers as an addition to your item description and help buyers easily locate the items they want to purchase. For example, Item Specifics in the Tickets category relate to the Date and Location of an event, while those in the Laptops category relate to Brand or Speed of a computer.
Adding Item Specifics
- eBay-defined Items Specifics: Most categories offer a fixed set of options to describe your item. The details you choose will display in your listing and are used in Product Finders to allow buyers to find items with certain characteristics. This adds to the terms that buyers can use to find your item beyond those that appear only in your title.
- Custom Item Specifics: Some categories will enable you to create your own Item Specifics. eBay will recommend Custom Item Specifics that have been successfully used for similar items in the past and you can accept the recommendations or add your own.
On average, adding Item Specifics results in an increase in bids per listing and an increase in sales per listing.
Please be mindful of the information you provide via Item Specifics. This information will be displayed above your item description and is considered a binding part of your item description to buyers.
