Though Peg's husband Tom recently retired, they were both working full-time jobs while they ramped up their eBay sales of lingerie and bathing suits evenings and weekends. In swimsuit season their sales spike up to around $5-6,000. Last summer they hired an hourly helper to meet demand.
Peg and Tom got a big bump up in sales when they added men's brand name and designer underwear, which sells briskly in places like Estonia, Latvia and Brazil. "We started getting orders from countries we had to look up in a world atlas, because we'd never heard of them."
Peg & Tom credit great products and great service as the main reason for their growth. They make a point of being especially honest, helpful and courteous in all their customer interactions as their 100% feedback score attests. They estimate at least 20% of their customers are repeat business.
Peg and Tom work together on photography. Tom snaps the bathing suit shots because he has a knack with the mannequin they use to model their suits. in her shots Peg displays underwear on fabric backgrounds with flowers.
