1. What are the new fees?
The following fees for eBay.com and eBay Motors will go into effect on January 30, 2007:

2. When will the new fees become effective on eBay.com and eBay Motors?
All new fees will become effective as of 23:59:59 PST (Pacific Standard Time) on January 29, 2007. Listings that begin on or after 23:59:59 PT (Pacific Time) on January 29, 2007, will be charged the new fees, regardless of when they were created. For example, a listing that was created within the Sell Your Item form on January 27, 2007, but is scheduled to begin on January 30, 2007, will be charged the new fees.
 
3. When will the new fees become effective for Canada?
All new fees will become effective on eBay.ca as of 23:59:59 EST (Eastern Standard Time) on January 29, 2007. For more information about fee changes for Canada, please see the eBay.ca Announcement Board.
 
4. How are Insertion Fees changing?
For listings on eBay.com and eBay Motors Parts & Accessories categories with a starting price between $1.00 and $9.99, the insertion fee is being raised from $0.35 to $0.40. No other Insertion Fees are changing. (Please read our eBay Fees Help page for more information.)
 
5. How are Final Value Fees changing?
The second tier of Final Value Fees for eBay.com and eBay Motors Parts & Accessories categories will increase from 3.00% to 3.25% which will impact all items that sell above $25.00. (Click here for more details on how fees are calculated.) No other Final Value Fees are changing.
 
6. How are fees changing on eBay Motors?
The Insertion Fees and Final Values Fees mentioned above will also apply to eBay Motors Parts & Accessories categories.
 
For eBay Motors Vehicle categories, the following seller fees will change:
  • The Transaction Services Fee for Motorcycles and Powersports* is increasing from $30 to $40.
  • The Transaction Services Fee for Cars & Trucks and all Other Vehicles & Trailers categories is being raised from $40 to $50.
  • The Reserve Fee on all eBay Motors Vehicle listings* is changing from a $5 flat fee to 0.1% of the reserve price with a minimum fee of $5 and a max of $10. (The Reserve Fee is refunded when bidding meets reserve.)
     
    As a reminder, the Transaction Services Fee is charged when the first bid is made on a listing without a reserve price or when the reserve price is met. There is no additional fee charged after the vehicle is sold.
     
    * The only exception to the Vehicle seller fee changes noted above is for listings in the Powersports sub-category "Powersport Vehicles Under 50cc." For listings in this category, the Transaction Services Fee will remain $3 and the Reserve Fee will stay flat at $2.
     
    7. Are the fees for Store Inventory listings being changed?
    No, there are no fee changes related to eBay Stores or Store Inventory listings at this time.
     
    8. You made fee changes last summer - why are you doing so again now?
    We understand that pricing changes affect our sellers, and we carefully consider any potential impact before making adjustments. These January changes are part of regular annual evaluation and analysis of our pricing and fee structure. They help us maximize opportunities to make product, marketing, and other investments that will improve the marketplace and help our sellers grow their businesses.
     
    9. Can members expect additional fee increases later this year?
    An important part of eBay's business strategy is a regular evaluation and adjustment to our pricing structure. If we determine we need to make additional changes, we will make every effort to inform our sellers in a timely fashion.
