When is it? This promotion starts at midnight Pacific Time on Tuesday, March 17, 2009 at 00:00:01 PT (12:00 AM plus one second on Tuesday, March 17, 2009) and ends on Friday, March 27, 2009 at 23:59:59 PT (11:59 PM plus 59 seconds). What is the International Site Visibility feature? You can attract more potential international buyers by showing your eBay.com items in search results on other eBay sites. Buyers on the sites you choose will see your listings exactly as you posted them on eBay.com. You can reach millions of buyers without having to create separate listings for the other sites. For more information on this feature and eligibility requirements, click here. What are the fees? For Auction-style listings regardless of duration, the fee for the International Site Visibility feature will be 1¢ on the U.S. site www.eBay.com. This includes listings that may have been created prior to the promotion period but are scheduled to start during the promotion period March 17-27, 2009. Members are responsible for ensuring that their transactions are lawful in both the country of the seller and the country of the buyer.
What is excluded? This promotion will not apply to the following types of listings: Fixed Price listings, listings for DVDs and video games, all eBay Motors listings including Parts & Accessories, Passenger Vehicles, Motorcycles, Power Sports, Other Vehicles, Motors Local Market, International, Live Auction, Professional Services, Real Estate, Classified Ads (Ad Format) and Store Inventory listings. The promotional rate does not apply to listings with a start date prior to March 17, 2009 - including those listings revised during the promotional period. The promotional rate also does not apply to listings created March 17-27, 2009 and scheduled to start after the promotion ends. How do I get the promotion price? You can list Auction-style items through Sell Your Item Form, eBay Seller Tools, and most third-party tools. * Optional Listing Upgrade Fees: Bold, Border, Buy It Now, Featured Plus!, Highlight, Home Page Featured, Gift Services, Reserve listing fee, Listing Designer, Picture Services, Subtitle, Picture Show, Supersize Picture, extended duration surcharges. Success with the International Site Visibility Feature Harry (user ID irecrafts) has been selling on eBay since May 2005. His specialty is Irish and Celtic jewelry, gifts and clothing. Harry's unique products are popular in both the US and the UK, making the International Site Visibility (ISV) feature an essential part of his listing strategy. "About 15 to 20 percent of my buyers are in the UK," Harry explains. "We've always sold to the UK because it generates more hits and sales for us." For Harry, listing on both the US and UK sites in order to get the same level of exposure in search would be costly and time-consuming. "If we had to, we'd list on the two sites, but it's not as efficient and we'd spend more money on fees. We save money by paying the ISV feature fee rather than paying the full outlay of listing separately on two sites." Harry recommends that sellers considering the ISV first test it on a number of their products to determine which items perform best in the UK market. "It may only work on a portion of your items use it judiciously." Overall, however, he says it's a money-maker for irecrafts. "If we didn't have the ISV, our sales would go down. Greater exposure leads to a greater customer base. I definitely recommend this feature." |
