****Upcoming Changes to Consumer Electronics Categories*****

Thanks to everyone who submitted feedback on our proposed changes to Consumer Electronics. We’ve reviewed and incorporated your feedback.

Here's a summary of the changes we'll be making:

• "Car Audio" is expanding to "Car Audio & Electronics" to include items such as Car Alarms, Radar Detectors, and Video & Navigation.
• “Audio” becomes “Home Audio” to differentiate it from “Car Audio and Electronics”. Further, Speakers have been broken out by their home theater function.
• “Gadgets & Other Electronics” is new and will include items such as GPS devices, Laser Pointers, Metal Detectors, and Voice Recorders.
• “Portable Audio & Video” is new and will include items such as Portable CD, DVD, MiniDisc, and MP3 Players.
• “Telephone", “Wireless Phones", and “Radio Equipment” categories will be grouped under “Phones, Radios, & Comm Devices” and new subcategories are being added.
• Several categories will be renamed to better identify their content, and many new breakouts will be added to make browsing easier.

Details of the upcoming changes are below. The numbers in brackets by the category names are the category numbers. These changes are scheduled to take effect June 2001
