Thank you, Comics Category Community, for stepping forward to help us improve the way eBay organizes comics.
After reviewing the suggestions to comics@ebay.com, we have created a proposal that we think addresses the major concerns you expressed.
The first change is the renaming of Comic Books to Comics. We have chronologically reorganized comic books by Ages (e.g. Golden Age (1938-1955)) and made their subcategories more consistent. Other category names, like Comic Figurines have been shortened to what they really are, "Figurines".
"What will happen to the existing categories?" you ask. When we make changes such as these, items in categories that are going away are combined into others (usually a "General" subcategory in an appropriate area) before the categories are eliminated. We would give sellers ample warning before deleting categories and would explain how to find new categories to list in.
The list below shows what the Comics area would look like if these changes were implemented. However, this is just a proposal, available for discussion regularly on the Comics chat board (stay tuned for times). Feel free to make any additional comments to comics@ebay.com.
For reference, a copy of the existing structure is at the bottom of this page. Category numbers for existing categories are shown in brackets next to each category name in both lists.
Thank you for all your feedback! We look forward to many more improvements in the future and very much appreciate the Community involvement in the process.
