Why is eBay retiring Picture Manager?
Retiring Picture Manager will allow us to focus our resources on a single eBay picture platform, eBay Picture Services (a.k.a. EPS), which will allow us to deliver quality pictures and state-of-the-art picture features for your eBay listings at a competitive price.
We are also adding a new way to upload pictures to eBay Picture Services. You can use the new "Copy Web Files" option to upload your picture directly from your 3rd party photo-hosting site. We will then store your pictures on eBay and display them in your listings.
When will Picture Manager be retired?
Sellers are no longer able to create a new subscription or upgrade an existing subscription to Picture Manager as of mid-March, 2009. Existing subscriptions will end after January 2010.
What options do I have for my pictures?
You can use eBay Picture Services to host your pictures or you can use a 3rd party picture hosting service.
If you select eBay Picture Services and your Picture Manager pictures are used in eBay-defined picture slots (such as "Add Pictures" in the Sell Your Item form), we'll automatically convert those pictures to standard eBay picture hosting during the listing flow (includes relist and sell similar) retaining the same URLs. If you've exclusively used URLs for your Picture Manager pictures in HTML fields on eBay forms or anywhere else on the Web, you'll need to edit those HTML references within 100 days of when your Picture Manager subscription ends because the files they reference will be removed.
If you choose a third party photo hosting service, consider downloading copies of your photos before you unsubscribe to Picture Manager-helpful if you do not already have copies saved to your local drive.

If I unsubscribe, will I be able to re-subscribe before Picture Manager is fully retired?
No. Once you unsubscribe, you will not be able to re-subscribe to Picture Manager. Also, if you lower your subscription level, you will not be able to raise it again.
What will happen to my Picture Manager pictures in my existing listings?
If you unsubscribe from Picture Manager, pictures in your active listings will remain viewable in your listings for 100 days from the date you unsubscribe. As these listings are relisted, or Good 'Til Cancelled listings are renewed, the pictures will be migrated to eBay Picture Services and standard eBay Picture Services fees will apply.
When the 100-day period ends, pictures not used in recent listings will be permanently deleted. When you use these pictures in listings, they will be set to expire automatically 90 days after the end of the listing. If you manually delete your pictures, they will be deleted immediately, regardless of the length of your subscription.
Pictures that are only used in item descriptions (or anywhere else) via HTML will also be permanently deleted after 100 days from the day you unsubscribe.
If you delete individual pictures stored in Picture Manager, they will be immediately removed from your listings and replaced by a standard eBay graphic indicating that you deleted the pictures.
I have a Store. What will happen to my pictures on my Store custom pages?
If you used Picture Manger to upload your pictures to custom Store pages, those pictures will be maintained as long as you continue to use them. You will still be able to manage your custom Store pages, but you will be using the eBay Picture Services uploader in your Store Builder instead of the Picture Manager uploader.
Pictures that are only used in item descriptions (or anywhere else) via HTML will also be permanently deleted after 100 days from the day you unsubscribe.
How can I save my existing Picture Manager pictures to my hard drive?
Go to the Manager Folders of Picture Manager and use the links "Save as a Zip File" to the right of each folder to save your pictures to your hard drive.
I have a Premium or an Anchor Store, is there any pricing consideration for me to replace the discount I get for Picture Manager?
Premium and Anchor stores qualify for free additional eBay Picture Services pictures, as well as free Picture Pack for most items listed to Premium and Anchor Stores.*
*Excludes Motors Vehicle categories, as well as items listed on non-participating sites.
I use Turbolister. Is there anything specific to Turbolister that I need to know?
Turbolister will not support the "Save as a Zip File" feature that allows you to save your pictures to your hard drive. Please use Picture Manager in My eBay to save your pictures.
Turbolister also does not support the new "Copy Web Files" upload option.
