SLIM
DOWN
With this season's kick butt action flicks like The Matrix Reloaded,
Charlie’s Angels and Laura Croft-Tomb Raider,
slim fit is the look you need to get in on all the action. Designers
such as Giorgio Armani, YSL and Gucci use slim
pants to state their fashion point, and stylish stars like Angelina
Jolie and Christina Applegate have been spotted slinking down the
red carpet in slim pants by Dolce & Gabbana and Dior. Try them
under dresses or tunics for a hippie look, or wear ankle boots with
slim pants for a rough and tough but always sleek look.
FURRRIENDLY FASHION
Some of the best looks in fall 2003, from John Galliano to Jean-Paul
Gaultier, are all about fur.
Fur lining, fur collars, furs scarves, fur trim on sweaters or cropped
little bomber jackets have been spotted on beauties like Halle Berry,
Eve, Debra Messing and even P. Diddy. Sable lined trench coats are
warm and luxurious while a stole can wrap you up for the most festive
nights. And have no fear! You can still be PETA sensitive like Pam
Anderson or Drew Barrymore with fashion friendly faux fur.
THE LONG AND SHIRT OF IT
When fashion, as life, seems to get really confusing, simplify with
the one-stop shirtdress.
Classic tailored shirts and shirtdresses ruled the runways in 2003
and the red carpet, as spotted on Connie Neilsen and Posh Spice
herself, Victoria Beckham. Valentino, Calvin Klein, Michael Kors,
and Carolina Herrera all used shirt dresses as their daytime look
du jour for the office, meetings, or carpools. Throw on a great
pair of sunglasses with colored lenses by Versace and don a big
tote by Kate Spade to spice up the look. Whatever way you cut it,
the shirtdress is no one-way wonder. |
