As the number of listings on eBay continues to grow, it can become more difficult for buyers to find the right set of listings. We think this feature will improve the search/browse experience on eBay by making it easier for users to find what they want. Testing eBay's 'new way to shop' will give us insight into whether or not this experience is an improvement for our eBay members.

No. You can continue to list your items as you do today. This new way to shop will ensure that more of the item information you provide will be used to help buyers find your items. To understand how this feature works, read 'How it Works'.

Yes! You can still bid and buy on items as you do normally. This new way to shop only impacts the way in which you find items. Because this experience is a short-term test, not all eBay search/browse features have been incorporated at this time. If this test is successful, these features will be included in a later roll-out of this new way to shop. Some features that are not included in this test are:

1. 'Add to favorites'
2. Saved searches
3. Some advanced search options
4. Title & Description search
5. Search Option customizations
6. The following search options:
1. Gift filter
2. Anything Points filter
3. Multiple Items Listings filter
4. Completed Listings filter
5. Date Range filter
6. Bid Range filter
7. Seller filter

If you prefer to use these features when you shop, you can opt out of the test and return to the normal eBay shopping experience.

This test will run for 4-8 weeks in the following categories: Shoes, Bedding, Glass, Art, TVs, and Event Tickets.

As always, we value and welcome your feedback. Ultimately, this test will be a "success" if the new way to shop makes eBay a better place to shop and helps our buyers and sellers be more successful. To evaluate this test, we will analyze if there is a measurable improvement in users' ability to find an item of interest, combined with overall positive community feedback

If the test goes well, we will continue to improve on this design and make this an opt-in experience available more widely across the site. The next phase will most likely offer this experience to users as an alternative option to the current search/browse experience.
