Picture Manager in the Sell Your Item Form

There are two methods on the Sell Your Item form for inserting pictures using Picture Manager. When you open the Add Pictures window, you can use the Picture Manager tab to add pictures in the standard eBay listing page layout. You can also create your own custom listing page layout and insert pictures in the Description editor, in either Standard or HTML editing mode.

Note: Standard or HTML editing mode can be used to revise a listing.

The Add Pictures Window

Picture Manager displays on the eBay Picture Manager tab when you click the Add Pictures button (see screenshot below) in the Bring your item to life with pictures section of the Sell Your Item form.

Note: You cannot use Picture Manager pictures on the Self-hosting tab.

Selecting a folder and a view

To browse and select your pictures, click the Select Folder drop-down menu in the upper right corner then select the folder that contains the pictures you want to use.
Choose either Thumbnail view, which are small pictures (see screenshot above) or the List View using the “View” link at the upper left of Picture Manager. The List view will display each picture's name, size, upload date, and enable you to sort your pictures.

Inserting, removing, and ordering pictures in the listing

To insert pictures

In the Thumbnail View, select the checkbox below the image for each picture you want to insert.
Click the Insert button and the selected pictures will be inserted in the listing and display below "Pictures in Your Listing" area.

To remove pictures

Select the checkbox below the image for each picture you want to remove.
Click the Remove button.

Note: This removes them from the listing, but does not delete them from Picture Manager.

To reorder pictures

Select the checkbox below the image for each picture you want to move.
Rearrange the order of the inserted pictures by clicking the Move Left and buttons to shift the selected pictures in either direction.

To upload new pictures

Click the Add Pictures button on the Picture Manager.
Click the Browse button to select the pictures you want to upload from your computer to your Picture Manager folder.
Select the picture you want to upload, then click the OK or Open button.

Note: You are limited to 12 pictures per listing. If you want to upload more than that at one time and use them later to create various listings, you can use the Picture Manager uploader in My eBay before you start listing with the Sell Your Item form.

After inserting pictures, you can select the Supersize or Picture Pack option to use larger versions of your pictures in your listing (additional fee may apply).

When you are done inserting pictures and selecting options, click the Insert Pictures button at the bottom of the window to add those pictures to your listing and return to the Sell Your Item form.

Adding pictures to your description

You can add pictures to your description in two ways:

Click the Picture Manager graphic icon on the Description editor toolbar on either the Standard or HTML tab. A window displays where you can browse for the Picture Manager pictures you want to use or upload new pictures. Select the checkboxes of pictures you want to add. Select the picture size using the "Choose Picture Size" drop-down menu. Click the Add to Description button to insert the pictures at the current cursor position in the description. If you use the HTML tab you will see the tag linking to the picture inserted and not the picture itself.
Open a second browser window and open your Picture Manager page in My eBay. Open the folder with the pictures you want to use and click the checkboxes for those pictures. Click the Copy Web Links button. Select the picture size using the "Choose Picture Size" drop-down menu. Right-click on the highlighted IMG tags to open an action menu and click Copy. Return to your Sell Your Item window. Select the HTML tab in the description editor. Right-click in the editor window at the location where you want to insert the pictures. Click Paste in the popup menu and the IMG tags you copied will be inserted.
