How do I know which selling tool is right for me?

See a feature comparison of all selling tools. If you still can't decide, try the products for yourself. eBay offers a 30-day free trial for the Seller's Assistant products for new users.

What are the system requirements for using Seller's Assistant Basic and Pro?

  • Windows 95, Windows 98, Windows NT, Windows 2000, or Windows 2000 ME
  • 200 MHz Intel Pentium Processor or equivalent
  • 64 MB RAM
  • Modem or Internet connection
  • Mouse
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer 5.01 or later
  • 40 MB free hard drive space

Note: Currently, eBay does not offer a Macintosh version of the Seller's Assistant tools.

Can the Seller's Assistant products create fixed-price listings for my eBay Store?

Yes. Both Seller's Assistant Basic and Pro can create fixed-price listings for placement in your eBay Store. Note that you must be subscribed with eBay Stores to submit fixed-price listings.

Subscriptions

Are there other charges for using the Seller's Assistant products besides the monthly subscription fee?

You can use the Seller's Assistant tools to sell as many items as you want for the same flat monthly fee. Please note, however, that all normal fees related to selling on eBay still apply, including Insertion and Final Value Fees.

Can I use multiple User IDs under one subscription?

Yes! You can use Seller's Assistant Pro to sell on eBay with up to five User IDs, as long as those User IDs are solely for your own personal use. However, sharing your subscription account with others for use with their User IDs is prohibited.

If I sign up for a Seller's Assistant Pro subscription, can I also use Seller's Assistant Basic?

Subscriptions for Seller's Assistant Basic and Pro are completely separate. However, all the functionality of Seller's Assistant Basic is contained in Seller's Assistant Pro, so a subscription to that tool should serve all your eBay sales management needs.

I have an older version of Seller's Assistant. How much does it cost to upgrade to the newer version?

Upgrades are free to all currently subscribed users.

How will I get billed for my monthly subscription?

The fee will automatically be added to your eBay account and will appear on your monthly invoice.

Installation

When I try to install, I get a "Failure to load InstallShield engine (iKernel.exe)" error. What should I do?

If you get an iKernel error from InstallShield you'll need to install the latest version of DCOM available from Microsoft at the following links:

Windows 98 or ME:
http://www.microsoft.com/
com/dcom/dcom98/dcom1_3.asp

Windows 95:
http://www.microsoft.com/
com/dcom/dcom95/dcom1_3.asp

After I complete my subscription order, I get an error #1 or a message saying I'm not subscribed. What should I do?

Try the following:

  1. Make sure you're running Internet Explorer 5.01 or later. You can get it from: http://www.microsoft.com/
  2. If that doesn't work, delete the msxml3.dll file in your Windows\System folder and reinstall.
