All members of the eBay Trading Assistant Directory are welcome to list items for sale on eBay Motors. However, if Trading Assistants sell motor vehicles on eBay, under their own user ID, they must have a dealer's license. All Trading Assistants should review in detail the information provided on our site regarding legal considerations.
Trading Assistants who list vehicles on our site must comply with the following rules:
Trading Assistants who are not licensed motor vehicle dealers may never list vehicles for sale under their own user ID.
Trading Assistants must not charge a success fee for their services.
Trading Assistants must not communicate with bidders or control the flow of information between bidders and the owner of the vehicle.
When selling vehicles for clients, Trading Assistants are fully responsible for the accuracy of the listing description.
If local laws allow, Trading Assistants may sell items in the Parts and Accessories categories on eBay Motors without a motor vehicle sales dealer's license.
Note: Motor vehicle sale (especially across state lines) may carry higher legal liability than selling other merchandise on eBay! eBay highly recommends that you check with your state Department of Transportation (DOT) to understand licensing and liability issues before engaging in Trading Assistant activities on eBay Motors.
