Choosing between detailed or summary invoices
Your invoices are monthly statements that show the billing activity on your seller account. Your invoice lists all payments, refunds, discounts, credits, and fees that were applied to your account during the invoice period, as well as the amount due. eBay offers two invoice formats -- detailed or summary.
Deciding which invoice format is right for you
The invoice format you choose determines how much detail you'll see on your invoice. Use the following table to help you decide which format you prefer.
Shows details for all transactions that you were charged for during the invoice period.
Includes a separate line item for each discount, credit, or fee.
Low- to medium-volume sellers
Sellers who want to see details for every item they sell
Shows a summary of your billing activity, rather than individual transactions.
Includes total amounts for each type of discount, credit, or fee.
Sellers who want a summary of their billing activity at a glance, without pages of detail about individual sales.
Setting your preference for invoice format
We generate a detailed invoice for you automatically, unless you change your preference to receive the summary format. You can change your preference at any time. Your preference will take effect the next time we generate your invoice.
To select your invoice format:
Under General Preferences, locate Seller billing preferences and click the Show link.
Choose your invoice format by selecting either Detailed HTML format or Summary HTML format.
Can I get both summary and detailed invoices?
When eBay generates your monthly invoice, it will be in whatever format you have selected in your Site Preferences (see above). However, you can always download invoice data details from the Seller Account page. You can also schedule a monthly download. Learn more about downloading invoice details.
