The fees on this page apply to some, but not all, listings. Fees for other Business & Industrial categories are included on other fee pages, depending on the subcategory and selling format.

How fees are calculated

Basic Fees

Insertion fee

When you list an item on eBay, you may be charged a listing (or insertion) fee. If applicable, you're charged one insertion fee per listing, per category, regardless of the quantity of items.

Final value fee

If the item sells, you're charged a final value fee. Final value fees are calculated based on the total amount of the sale and are charged per item.


The total amount of the sale is the final price of the item, shipping charges, and any other amounts you may charge the buyer. Sales tax is not included.

Advanced listing upgrade fees

If you add advanced listing upgrades to your listing, fees apply. Not all listing upgrades are available with every listing tool.

Supplemental service fees

If you use supplemental services, charges associated with these services may be included on your seller invoice as fees.

Basic fees

  • Up to12 pictures per listing are free with eBay picture hosting, including zoom and enlarge features.

Supplemental service fees

If you use supplemental services, or other services offered by eBay or third parties, then charges associated with those services may also be treated as fees. Depending on the service, and at eBay's option, these charges may be included on your seller invoices as a fee, which may be charged to your automatic payment method on file, if any. Supplemental services include, but aren't limited to:

Examples of fee calculations

You’re selling business & industrial equipment with an auction-style listing. You select a starting price of $1,000. You offer local pickup.
 
You add a Buy It Now price of $1,500.
 
A buyer ends the listing with the Buy It Now price of $1,500. Since you aren't charging the buyer for shipping or any other costs, $1,500 is the total amount of the sale.
 
The final value fee is $60, or 4% of $1,500.

You're selling business & industrial equipment with a 10-day fixed price listing. You select a price of $5,000. You offer local pickup.
To attract the attention of more buyers, you add the Value Pack advanced listing upgrade.
The equipment sells and since you aren't charging the buyer for shipping or any other costs, $5,000 is the total amount of the sale. 
The final value fee is $200, or 4% of $5,000.

Other terms

  • Insertion fees and advanced listing upgrade fees apply to each listing you create, are charged at the time of listing, and are nonrefundable. Fee amounts are based on the terms in effect when the listing goes live and when it renews. If you select more than one category for your listing, insertion and advanced listing upgrade fees apply for each category.

  • Not all listing upgrades are available with every listing tool and not all advanced listing upgrades, when purchased, may be displayable across all our sites, services, applications, and tools.

  • We require payment in full each month on accounts with an amount due of $1 or more. If you haven't paid the amount due by the payment due date each month, late fees may apply. Learn more about payment requirements, due dates, and late fees.

  • We may limit the exposure of duplicate auction-style listings to ensure a positive buyer experience. If you list duplicate, identical auction-style listings, you'll be charged the full insertion fee for each listing even if a listing doesn't appear on eBay for the full duration of the listing. See the duplicate listings policy for more information.

  • Seller fees don't purchase exclusive rights to web pages on eBay. We may, in our sole discretion and without consent from or payment to sellers, display third-party advertisements (including links and references thereto) and listings from other sellers on any eBay web page.

  • When you submit your listing, it might not appear immediately in a keyword or category search. This can take up to 24 hours. Therefore, we can't guarantee exact listing durations.

  • All fees are in US dollars.
