When you list an item on eBay, you’re charged an Insertion Fee. If the item sells, you are also charged a Final Value Fee. The total cost of selling an item is the Insertion Fee plus the Final Value Fee.

The basic fee structure depends on the type of listing you use.

All fees are in U.S. Dollars.

Auction listing fees

Your first five single-quantity auction-style listings to be listed on the site in a 30-day period have an Insertion Fee of $0.00 for eligible categories.* (See Insertion Fees for more information.) These $0.00 Insertion Fee listings also have a Final Value Fee per listing of 8.75% or $20, whichever is lower. Additional listings within the 30-day period and multi-quantity listings are subject to the following Insertion Fees and Final Value Fees.

*All categories are eligible except for Motors Vehicles, Real Estate, and the following Business & Industrial subcategories: Tractors & Farm Machinery, Heavy Equipment & Trailers, Concession Trailers & Carts, Imaging & Aesthetics Equipment, Forklifts & Other Lifts, Manufacturing Equipment, Metalworking Equipment, and Commercial Printing Presses. Items listed in more than one category are subject to the regular Insertion Fees for the additional category. To be eligible, items need to be listed with the Sell Your Item or Simple forms. Items listed with tools such as Selling Manager, Selling Manager Pro, TurboLister, FileExchange, Mass Listing Editor, bulk sell/relist/revise flows, API, and third-party listing tools aren't eligible.

Fixed price listing fees

**Fixed Price listings and the Buy it Now feature have a minimum price of $1.00.

The Final Value Fee for a Multiple Item Fixed Price listing is calculated per item sold, based on the final sale price of the item.

PowerSellers who maintain high detailed seller ratings may qualify for discounts on Final Value Fees.

Listing with variations fees

• The Insertion Fee for a listing with variations is $0.35 for the entire listing.

• Your Final Value Fees are calculated per item – the same as other fixed price listings.

• Picture fees are based on the largest picture set. Shared pictures make up one picture set. Variation pictures for each variation make up other picture sets.

  Example: You add 4 shared pictures, 3 variation pictures for red, 0 pictures for black, and 1 for gray. You’ll be charged for largest set of pictures.  In this example, you’ll be charged for 4 pictures. If you purchase Picture Pack, you’ll only be charged the Picture Pack fee for the largest size picture set.

When you add your pictures, decide whether to use Picture Pack and pay only the Picture Pack fee.  One of the advantages of the Picture Pack option is you also have the advantage of the Supersize option.

Optional feature fees

You can add optional features to help increase bid activity and your chances for a successful sale.

The fine print

• If your seller account is suspended for any reason, any charges on your seller account immediately become due and payable. eBay reserves the right to charge your billing method for any amounts you haven't previously disputed.

• When you submit your listing, it might not appear immediately in a keyword or category search. This can take several hours. Therefore, eBay can't guarantee exact listing durations.

• Good 'Til Cancelled renews automatically every 30 days until the item sells or you end the listing. Insertion fees are charged every 30 day period.

• Durations of longer than seven days may incur a fee and change some upgrade and Insertion fees. Your listing fee subtotal appears in the “Your fees so far” section at the bottom of the "Create your listing" form and again under “Review your listing."

• You can view your recent account activity for the last four months by viewing your Account Status page.

• Fees apply to each listing you create.

• Fees pay for the right to sell on eBay, but don't buy a web page. eBay may, in our sole discretion, and without your consent or payment to you, place third-party advertisements on any web page within our site.
